There’s no water in the river right now. It’s rather bleak.

Pretty level trail for those looking for a more moderate walk/run. Not a lot of topography. Unfortunately headed north from the south end as stated previously there are a lot of homeless encampments. If this bothers or offends you, this is not the trail for you. if it doesnt its very enjoyable. Note if there are heavy rains, since it runs along the salinas river which most of the year is underground here, you can be in for a surprise. if the water rises, it comes up quickly enough you will have to brisk walk to move away from it. Kind of fun!

Did this hike because it’s close to my house. Just a boring walk along the river. Lots of neat homeless camps to see along the way.

There were approximately 8 shopping carts on the trail with some rubbish looks like the city needs to clean it up. Great walk, not too steep.

Easy, not much to see. Too many abandoned shopping trolleys.

Ran 3 miles of this trail from cal-de-sac north. Some of the trail is dirt and other parts mix of concrete and asphalt. No problems on the trail, few people walking dogs. Would run trail again.

Nice suburban stretch . Open to the public. A bit of trash and dumped shopping carts, but no sign of homeless. A fire scorched parts of the vegetation (wonder if those are related ). About half of the distance is paved. This trail is connected at the south to a newly paved trail, that wanders into a nice neighborhood sidewalk. You can make this into a 5K point to point, or 10k total).

This trail did not feel safe. Homeless and tents under most bridges. Trail goes behind a Walmart store part of the way. I don’t recommend this walk.

A bit of trash and grocery carts, but safe enough and a great walk. The river was flowing which the dogs appreciated. Other walkers, joggers and bikers all very friendly.

I was scared to go here, but I had an hour to kill, so I tried this trail. Very flat. I stayed near Larry Moore park and never saw a homeless person. I would have been too scared to go closer to Niblick. The trail was very clean. No shade, nut a few places to stop and relax.

Very pretty at some parts but also sketchy sections where the homeless encampments are. I turned back when I noticed the apartments that had barbed wire and security warning signs posted. Also an underside of a bridge that feels like someone is lurking in the shadows in wait. If they cleaned this up it would be a lovely trail.

I only ran as far as Niblick, then turned around. There were too many shopping carts, and much hobo garbage on the trail.

Great walking path. The street crossings are underpasses; no traffic concerns. The north section was only recently completed and is very nice.
