Great, well-marked trail. I tracked the distance as closer to 4-miles from the trailhead.

We hiked up McMenemy Trail, then took the Girard connector to the Catway, taking the San Ysidro trail all the way down. It was 3.5 miles total. Definitely a moderate hike, with lots of flowers, poison oak, and rocks to climb on.

Quite a beautiful trail -- it connects with some of the other trails in this area so you can make it a longer hike! Lil bit of rock scrambling is available if you look for it (my fav)

Mellow trail until the end and the incline ramps up. Nice view. Short and sweet.

I love this hike. Moderately hard last part up to Saddle Rock. Then a nice, easy loop back to the start. Beautiful views all around.

Moderate hike, slightly rocky trail but beautiful views

Steep going up Saddle Rock, but no scrambling needed. Worth the views at the top. Returned by Girard Trail to the Bench on McMenemy Trail.

Great hike. First half is a steady incline and the second half is stair like rocks, giving you good elevation in little time. There is plenty of parking in front of the gate at the trail head as well as in the surrounding neighborhood. The trail starts in a residential area and is well marked. You get a good warm up in the beginning until you eventually cross the creek and climb the first set of stairs, and be prepared to break a good sweat from there. At the top there are rocks that people like to move around to make different words or symbols so between that and the view, it makes for some good pictures. Feel free to move the rocks around and make a word or symbol of your liking. Quick hike, great incline and amazing views.
