Beautiful hike, mostly shaded even close to midday. The last half mile or so is a little tricky coming down because there are some decent sized rocks on the path requiring big steps down, along with some gravel underfoot. I slipped a couple times but fortunately didn’t fall.

Amazing! One of my favorites of all time. Began when it was overcast and a little rainy and over the course of the hour became very sunny. Poison oak near the trail for the first half before becoming steep. Gorgeous views at the top. Definitely coming back!!

This hike was gorgeous and just the right amount of 'workout' for a lazy Saturday morning. The natural plant life is enough of a reason to go! As well as the rock formations and the view from the top. We loved it.

Nice hike. Started around 7:30AM and had about 75% of shade throughout the whole hike. Some cool rock frogs ruins and views towards the top. Trailhead is easily missed but as a previous reviewer mentioned it’s on the right side of the road when you’re coming up. Overall an enjoyable hike.

Nice payoff at the end, amazing view of the ocean and valley as well. Went on a weekday around 5:30pm, and I saw just a handful of people on the trails. Mostly rock climbers, there’s a beautiful place to do that three quarters up the peak. Definitely recommend bringing water on a hot day.

We loved this moderate hike! Rewarding views of the ocean and greater LA expanse when you make it to the top. Mostly easy trail with some rocky parts. Occasional shade throughout. Slightly overgrown and buggy but nothing unmanageable. Also some cool larger rock formations towards the top we saw a few climbers preparing to tackle. Will definitely hike here again! -One Love

Decently challenging ascent through a partially shaded trail. The top has beautiful views of the ocean and mountains with a field of wild flowers. I was surprised to plenty of climbers bouldering at the top.

The trail we came up by was from Piuma rd (backbone trail) it’s a beautiful hike but be prepared to encounter bugs and lots of spiders, I’m sure a few came home with me lol. The thrilling part about this hike is the amount of snakes you will encounter, Pacific Southern rattlesnake was chillin right on the trail so be CAUTIOUS AND ALERT.

Well maintained trail that was easy to follow. Good moderate incline on the way up that for your blood pumping, but not too intense. There’s some really awesome red rocks! Was fun to see people rock climbing and slack lining across them!
