Construction cuts the trail off once you get to the marina. You aren’t supposed to bike there right now.

Part of the trail was closed to construction. It was possible to go another long route around it. But there was more construction. It would be better to wait until this opens back up. We asked and there’s no real ETA on when that will be.

When I got there I was stopped by construction workers and they told me I couldn’t go through because they were repairing some stuff. Waste of time

Great trail. We started off by the Westin Hotel, so it was noisy at first but it smooth and quiet after that. Go Sac!

Nice place to ride, walk, or run! I loved biking here during the day to swim, and up to downtown sacramento at night (with company)!

Biked from Raleys on Freeport to river trail access t Westin/ Captins Table. Easy winding streets through nice neighborhoods. Bike route signs closer to the river. Multiple 4-way stops to cross with varying levels of traffic depending on time of day. Evening rides when blossoms are blooming smells devine through all the neighborhoods.

I would rather run the American River Trail over this trail. This trail has a lot of road noise and the scenery is not as nice as the ART.

Though you can see on the map that the walk is near the freeways, it was hard to know how loud the roadway would b. The noise of the freeway really spoiled the walk. Being that close to the river was a delight, but the proximity of active train tracks as well as the freeway noise made the walk less than optimal for us.

Nice trail along the Sacramento River. It feels more like urban hiking hearing the traffic noise along I-5. Walking on asphalt is hot and thankful for the breezy day, Would be perfect for cyclist looking for a smooth ride.

Saw a rattlesnake and a turkey hen with her chicks. Warm day. Loved the parts nestled by the river. Busy with bikers and walkers alike.

First to Review

This trail follows the railroad tracks, Interstate, and river. Not much urban downtown to visit. Not worth the heat during the summer, might be better in the cooler seasons. Cyclists seem to like it.
