Most beautiful backpacking experience! Despite the altitude sickness after acclimating myself and years of hiking. Beautiful, you could see the desert in the valley on one side while standing on snow. This hike was hard mainly because of the aforementioned altitude sickness, and the snow. See my photos of the street signs all covered. I do recommend going in winter though as long as you can handle the elements and have the right gear. Wanted to see more wildlife, but once ai came across fresh mountain lion tracks in the middle of the wilderness that was plenty !
