Getting There

This can be a DIFFICULT hike due to loose ground and the potential to slip on the descent. For an easier route in Runyon Canyon, take the paved road down or see this out and back route: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/runyon-park-to-indian-rock Runyon Canyon is an extremely popular hiking trail with great views of Hollywood Hills. It is a great place to go for a quick hike to see the Hollywood sign or the views from Inspiration Point and Clouds Rest. This is also a great area for dog owners as there are plenty of off-leash areas. Don't expect to have the trail to yourself and plan time for finding street parking. The southern entrance to the park is located at the north end of Fuller Avenue. Tennis shoes or running shoes recommended. There are a few water fountains but due to the sunny nature of the hike, you should bring a water bottle as well.

LA City Parks (213) 473-7070

From Hollywood Boulevard, travel 0.2 miles west of La Brea Ave. and head north on North Fuller Ave. Head north across Franklin Ave. and begin searching for street parking. The entrance to Runyon Canyon Park is at the top of Fuller Ave. Street parking can be scarce

It was great view for downtown LA and it’s a short or longer for shortcuts

Good constant incline, the workout begins the moment you get out of your car. Extra strenuous today with my weighted vest.

HikingGreat!

Part of the trail that was outlined was closed, but there are other loops around. Most the trail is pavement, but some of the trail is very sandy/dusty so make sure you wear good shoes. Pretty moderately trafficked on a random Wednesday morning, but wide and open enough to accommodate people safely. We got lucky with street parking but I can see that parking can get full really quickly.

loved the trail ! very good workout ! I did slip a couple of times so be careful & bring sturdy shoes!. also if you have a reactive pup on leash be very careful!!! alot of irresponsible owners just let their dogs run up to other dogs on leash

Overall very cool trail. Unfortunately, the parking situation is terrible and the trail was very crowded. Additionally, there are a couple trails that are currently closed as others have mentioned. Once these trails open, this will definitely be a 4 or 5 star hike!

gets crowded, so get there early if you prefer less people. quick little hike/run; i like to hike up west trail, then run the latter part of the loop since it is paved
