The lighthouse looks like an outhouse but the trail is great. Easy walking, great view of the lake. Easy to follow if you start at Rubicon trail and walk to the lighthouse trail intersection. Lighthouse is not at the top of the ridge as one may expect, it is partway down from the top.

This is a great hike! Views are top notch and so is the trail itself.

Great, short, super scenic hike! As described. Fun with kids as it has a few short challenging uphills and the novelty of the ancient lighthouse and bears! Beautiful lake views! Parking is a little tricky and costs $10.

Fun, short hike. The history of the light house is cool (its the highest elevation lighthouse in the world) and the views of the lake are awesome. You can continue on further onto the Rubicon if you choose. D.L. Bliss is a great place to visit on the lake with lots to do. Parking can be scarce (small lots) so get there early or in the afternoon. I was camping in the campgrounds which was super convenient with a couple days of stuff to do.

I found this to be a beautiful hike to lighthouse. I also hiked part of the Rubicon trail which was well worth it. The views are spectacular. I parked at the entrance and walked the paved road to the trail which is about a mile, it is also a good hike for the kiddies.

Gorgeous views the whole time! Looks to be family friendly. Will definitely plan to come back!

My kindergartener and 2nd grader powered through without much problem. The views of Tahoe alone are worth this hike. The scenery and footing changes a few times so you will not be bored. Someone in an earlier review likened the lighthouse to and outhouse and I agree! The history is pretty cool though and the idea of someone doing all that work to include doing huge granite steps that far off a main road a century ago is pretty amazing.

Incredible views of the lake! The cove trail is awesome and worth it to go put your feet in the water. Easy to follow trail system and the AllTrails map is perfect!

Fun, quick trail to small hidden lighthouse. Spectacular lake views. Somewhat strenuous.

Amazing! Great view to lake and mountain as you go. The beach at the end is like a hidden gem! The lighthouse is tiny which we almost missed it. The trail actually starts inside of the camp site so that’s a little confusing but overall easy to follow.

Such a gorgeous hike along the lake! There was no snow on the trail and it was in the 60’s. Will definitely be back to do the full Rubicon trail next time.

Lots of snow on the trail, so it made it hard to follow the trail. Views were amazing though!

Great views and fun to check out the old lighthouse - tho it looks more like an outhouse :D

the views are spectacular! a nice gradual up and down trail along the lake up on the hillside. we never tire of this view. we did it in the morning Sept 8 to 9ish in the morning with the sun warming our hike to take the chill off.

best to drop 1 car at viking Holm, and drive another car to bliss state park, lester beach and start from there. then you only go one way. or have some one pick you up by boat.

Ranger said it was .75 mile trail to the beach from the day parking area, it was not, no big deal though just not really a direct route to the beach.. had some ok views the closer it meandered to the lake. Had some decent sized sequoia trees and old growth stumps from logging.

This was a pretty and easy trail. Nice views and the trail is visible and marked. This specific loop trail is a modified version of the posted lighthouse trail. I like this one because of the elevation. I am new to hiking and this was easy for me. I do advise to wear proper shoes because some sections are slippery ( stairs). Tip: it’s 10 dollars for parking/entrance.

Great views pretty steep incline for my in-laws in their early 70's. Great views but make sure you can do inclines.
