Nature tripsGreat!

loved that this was super low key + enjoyable. would recommend exploring the david hansen part to add on distance. overall a great option in woodcare right now since the spirit rock trails are not accesible. very dog friendly but lots of dogs off leash + a few horseback riders so be aware.

Great hike with a 6 and 3 year old. Lots of lizards, horses and poison oak :) fun teepees to explore in the redwoods at the end. Will come back when cooler and wetter!

HikingGreat!

A beautiful, easy redwoods hike. Fun for the whole family. Some sections of the trail had poison oak off of both sides. Maybe a half mile of exposure. The rest is under the canopy.

Nice morning or after dinner loop. Good for younger kids but be aware of the poison oak on the trail edges.

Next time I would not do the full loop and avoid the area nearest the main road. It was not shaded and not very scenic. There was a lot of horse crap everywhere.

Very overgrown with lots of poison oak. Sparse shade aside from the small redwood grove.

A good dog friendly (on leash) loop. A bit muddy in parts. Blown over trees at the end of the meadow trail can be a bit confusing to navigate.

GORGEOUS trail and the perfect length. Took us about and hour and half with 2 kiddos and doggos. Only downside: Dogs were COVERED in ticks, I've never seen anything like it.

Nice loop trail. The path through the forest is great. Not strenuous. Do expect horses and dogs on the trail. No bikers though. The path along the road through the retired golf course is less pleasant though

Pretty good hike - lots of ticks. Between my 2 dogs and myself we had about 15 ticks on us when we arrived home. Also make sure you bring sunscreen.

Walked clockwise around the loop and would have to agree with previous reviewers- not so many redwoods (though other beautiful varied terrain) and the last third is along the road and back side of a golf club building.

Gorgeous redwood forest, hilly enough to get some cardio, and also take some great photos, just all around great morning walk.

Enjoyed the variety of landscape but didn’t like the parts of the trail close to the roads. Port-a-let available.

Great place to bring a dog. Knocked off one star because the trails were poorly labeled at some places. Redwoods are large and beautiful. The trail is very exposed for a long section so don't forget sunblock!

Do not come here with your dog! this place is infested with ticks! Spent hours checking my dog's coat, found at least 20!

Went to hike this easy loop clockwise from trailhead with my wife and daughter and found that the trail was closed at the David Hansen Trail intersection. We did the David Hansen loop and still had a great time! We found some BIG banana slugs up at the top that my daughter was fascinated with. (not so much with the wife)

my girlfriend and I are avid hikers and hike every where. plus she's a park ranger, so I mean everywhere! so the trail is filled with horse shit! literally, you couldn't walk more then 2 minutes without seeing more horse shit. There was fresh shit scattered along the trail so you have to go into the brush sometimes to avoid it. Other places had old moldy shit that must have been there for weeks!!! ok...moving on... POISEN OAK EVERYWHERE! !!! There was so much poison oak everywhere we couldn't enjoy the hike because we had to always be mindful of where we walked. The plants weren't maintained and has overgrown most of the other plants. DO IF YOU GO, BRING SOMETHING FOR POISEN OAK. moving on again... TICKS EVEYWHERE!!!! We brought our dog with us. She stayed on the trail and was always leashed and kept an eye on. We've hiked many places with her and take her for 3+ mile hikes 2/3 times a week and I have never found so many ticks on her before. YES SHE HAS MEDICINE AND YES WE SHOWERED HER. so far, ...13 ticks found. we hiked on Sunday and it's Tuesday and we're still finding ticks on her. so if you go triple check your dog before you guys head back home. so to summarize everything PROS: •Beautiful succulents on the mountainside •short hike (2ish hours) CONS: •TICKS!!! •POISEN oak!!! •HORSE SHIT ON TRAIL
