I extended this by adding wolf ridge trail. I also cut out the detour to the beach so total distance was about the same as described. Check out my recording if you want a different variation. This route is no harder/easier than the original but I definitely recommend doing it in the same direction as me... Wolf ridge would be hard in the opposite direction. Went on a cool day so didn't need much water. 11.5 miles / 4.5 hours total. Took my dog (medium size terrier) and he loved it. Definitely moderate and not hard. There aren't a ton of steep climbs. Left from my home in Sausalito so the start and end point might look weird on the map. Note the first mile is thru a neighborhood and also involves a small trail from sausalito into the headlands which I don't think you can see on the alltrails map / Google maps, but it's there.

We followed the route on the map and it was a nice hike but it is heavily trafficked by lots mountain bikers and trail runners. Miwok is VERY busy so I don't think we'll do this again. The up and downs was really nice and it was challenging but we probably wouldn't do this one again.

Beautiful trail! I got on the loop at the Morning Sun Trailhead (forgot to record). Best to start early in the morning this time of year. The trail is pretty exposed and it gets hot quick. Rodeo Beach was a great halfwayish break point to eat a snack and dip your feet in the water. Parts of the trail were a bit overgrown near the Marine Headlands visitor center, so just watch out for ticks and poison oak.

This trail has nice views but it’s popular for trail running and biking. I really don’t recommend it for hiking as there is no solitude and you will be constantly stepping out of the way of runners and bikers.

Watch out for bikers, they come from both directions. As pointed out by other reviewers, you'll have to take Smith Trail to get to Rodeo Valley Trail from Jilian Trail; just go left on Bunker Road for about 100m and you'll see the trail sign. Moderate hike at best.

Views to die for. Even better with fog rolling in. Not crowded. Exposed trail, bring windbreakers.

Some elevation but not steep and I would rate as moderate. Lots of wild flowers and good view of both Sausalito and Golden Gate.

Great trail, dress warm. If you start early in the morning it’s a long descent to start and will be cold in the early morning.

Nice day - great views. The map is incorrect as one other reviewer said - go a little farther on to smith trail to connect to rodeo.

My favorite backyard hiking area! Easily end up with 15-20 miles. Coastal scenery is top notch, especially sunrise/sunset hikes. Lots of challenging hills to choose from. Great day hike

There are so many trails; even though we follow the direction, we still got lost 3 times and had to trek back. At one point the trail showed on the map/GPS doesn’t exist. Wasn’t sure I was going to make it through; but I did, yay! We got some sun, fog, and rain, too during our hike. Was a great hike though - loved it.

The part that goes from parking lot to Rodeo Trail is wrong— the path is covered in brush, unmaintained and impassable. I backtracked and went further along the road to get on the trail. After that it was good. Karl the Fog was in full effect. I got lost as usual. Couldnt run strava cos of battery drain but it feels like I ran at least 13.1

This is my first longest trail route. It has lot of trails inside you may end up going into some other route ensure you can carry gps trackers. In this trail route you will see golden gate and Pacific Ocean. Good for moderate level hikers to start with hard levels

This was great. Very serene hike. There were probably some incredible views on this hike, but I didn’t see them because there was so much fog. There was a short time where the fog broke and gave me a glimpse at Sausalito. As far as difficulty, the main thing here is that it’s long! I was sweating a lot by the end, but there was never an incline that made me feel like my lungs were on fire. Anyone can do this hike.

Great hike, great views. Not a lot of shade on the trail, so bring plenty of water for you and your canine companion.

Great workout, but not the best hike to bring your girlfriend on for her bday - bring lots of water and apologies.
