Beautiful hike. Views are amazing. Some bikers but trails are generally wide enough where it's not an issue. Our dog absolutely loved it!

Half the trail was paved which has its positives and negatives. Beautiful weather and views. The parking lot was pretty full around 2 pm but there were still a lot of spots! Most people were on the beach, not the trail. Also, bathrooms are open!

Hiking

Lots of people but people were pretty mindful about wearing their masks. Not too many huge inclines, lots of drizzle and fog, but overall pretty easy hike and it’s nice you get to see the beach.

It’s a beautiful hike. We usually have a view of the ocean, but we were fogged in today. Still an amazing hike.

Not clearly marked at the start. Stunning views of Rodeo Beach, cliffs and Pacific Ocean. Historic relics of WW2 and the Cold War.

We went clockwise to get the steepest part of the trail done first. The coastal section of the trail had great views. As we climbed, the fog rolled in which limits the views. So check fog conditions before starting. What disappointed me most is the amount of graffiti on the old military installations and even the hand rails. We went up Hill 88 and it was sad to see trash, broken down buildings, and graffiti everywhere. The second half of the hike has views of the canyon, but no water, so it was a bit boring. This trail gets great reviews, but we just were not impressed. Consider taking the Tennessee loop trail which is just north of here as an alternate.

Gorgeous views of the coastline and the ocean. Rocky about half way up. No shade, but it was windy and cool enough to be fine for my husky. Lots of families and pups on the way. Once you get to the top, Hill 88 looks like a scene straight out of Mad Max, didn’t realize that the boogie man wasn’t going to pop out until I saw other people admiring the graffiti. Go past that to hit the top! Would definitely do it again!

Beautiful hike! Steady incline all the way up, but fun places to explore along the way to take it easy. The view is stunning all the way. Exposed though, no shade.

Free and plentiful parking. Trail starts at a beach where you can enjoy watching surfers. Heads steadily up and actually away from the coast - follow signs for trail, or if you choose get sidetracked on the smaller trails that run closer to the coast- just know they don’t necessarily connect back to this trail. On clear days you’re rewarded with views and on foggy days with ethereal beauty - can’t go wrong.

Awesome hike to do with a dog- had mine off leash on a Saturday afternoon and had zero problems, ran into a bunch of other dogs on and off leash. Unbelievable views!
