I would say this hike is one that is easy to stay on trail. the very big draw back is I would say I only found 3 or 4 shady spots on the 4 miles each way. i would highly recommend hat and sun screen for this hike, and a lot of water.

Hiked the trail from the start of Rocky Peak (off Rocky Peak rd ) to the end of Las Lljas ( off evening dr ) my fitbit showed about 11 miles. It was a great workout and some awesome views. But heads up not a lot of shade.
