The rocky topography (boulders all around) distinguishes this trail from others in the L.A. area. Definitely a good workout-steady uphill climb to the peak (more intense toward the end). View from the peak is great, and the wind at the top offers a nice respite from the Simi Valley heat. You can also sign a trail log at the peak. Dogs will be fine for most of the hike, but will struggle with the final approach.

I love this trail, so beautiful when the mountains are green, and I love that it has views of both city and nature.

I've only done this when it's been in the 90's and it's damn good workout in those temperatures.
Pretty busy, even on a workday but quietens down mid morning.
