According to Access Northern California (http://accessnca.org/access-northern-california/explore/explore-detail-view/?site_id=137): Tucked between Pedro Point and Rockaway Point, Pacifica State Beach, often called Linda Mar Beach, is popular with surfers and dog owners (leashed dogs are allowed on the beach). The beach itself is largely inaccessible, but if you want a challenging climb and thrilling ride, you can pick up the Coastal Trail here and head north along the coast to Rockaway Beach and beyond. If you're ambitious, you can travel the entire seven miles of this trail segment, past Mori Point to Sharp Park Beach and the Pacifica Municipal Pier. ACCESSIBILITY: There are plentiful handicapped-accessible spots at Pacifica State Beach and several in Rockaway Beach, in lots at the end of Old County Rd. and at the end of San Marlo Way. The small lot on Reina del Mar, near the entrance to the Calera Creek Water Recycling Plant, has one accessible space. There is a wheelchair-accessible bathroom at Pacifica State Beach and in the parking lot at the south end of Old County Rd. From the northern end of the Pacifica State Beach parking lot, the trail is level for 0.75 miles, then ascends to Rockaway Point. A sign indicates steep grades (8.3 percent) but users have reported it being doable for power chairs. When you reach the top you're treated to fresh ocean breezes and bird's-eye views, first of central Pacifica, then of the Rockaway Beach district. Whiz downhill through a series of switchbacks to Rockaway Beach, traveling past the parking lot at the end of Old Country Road, and cross a pedestrian bridge to Nick Gust Way. From here the sidewalk leads to a concrete platform where you can view breakers and surfers. Then travel along Rockaway Beach boardwalk, ending at the parking lot. From the northeast corner of the parking lot, the paved 0.75-mile Calera Creek Trail runs through restored wetlands to a memorial for victims of the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center. If you would like a longer trip, the trail continues past the wetlands, along busy Hwy. 1 to Mori Point Road, where you can follow the sidewalk a short distance to connect to trails in Mori Point and Sharp Park.

Hiking

We made it a loop because there were some pretty narrow and steep parts going up and down the cliff. You can go through the back like we did and it goes along highway on a paved path. Suggest going up one way and back the other way.

Nice views. Even better than Mori Point. Love the chance to also walk barefoot on the beach.

Beautiful. Tricky to figure out, overgrown trails. But worth the gorgeous views.

Walking

The trail is nice and offers a lovely ocean view with wide trails. The people on the trail make it difficult to enjoy. It is crowded and almost everyone has off-leash dogs, making it hard for people with an on-leash dog to relax and have fun.

The trail was beautiful but the address in the App is misleading! Instead look for Breakers Resturant there is plenty of public parking all around. Also the trail is not a loop

Easy-peasy Trail. Lots of wildflowers and wonderful views of the ocean and Pacifica beaches and neighboring mountains. Great views from Rockaway Point. Lots of places to eat and drink once you’re done hiking!

Nice little up and down through the quarry and very dog friendly. Could do low grade stroll or scramble up some rocky hills along the coast. Beautiful views of the Pacific

Good to take your small dogs, not very long, but beautiful, specially when you go through the shelter cove (private properties) but there is a short trail back.

Good trail to take your dog. Go all the way behind Grocery outlet (private properties) but a hidden trail, is beautiful, looks like a pirate world

Another forgotten trail. I lived in nearby Half Moon Bay for 5 years and enjoyed doing these little coastal gems.
