A good early morning workout hike. Not much shade, best in the fall/winter. Looks like great snake habitat in the summer. Trails are easy to follow and some veer off the main slightly for good views on the canyon. Somewhat littered from party people but not too bad. To reach the summit pile of boulders take some light scrambling. I'd recommend boots just because a twisted ankle would mean a tough hike out.

Beautiful quick trail to hike in the early morning or evening away from the heat.

The trail is steep but short, the actual rock climbing is alright, there’s some hidden climbs on the back side of the trail. If you plan on climbing top rope, bring something to protect your rope because a few of the bolts overlap rocks! Other then that there’s at least 8 climbs to choose from and as of yesterday the anchors are all still good !

Great short little trail. Looks like some rock climbing can be down because some one put down some hooks. Pretty short though and littered with bottles.

Good hike. The trail was littered, but the views were nice. Some of trail was washed out. Don't leave anything in car--mine was broken into and lots of little stuff stolen.

One of my favorites don't drive out of your way to do this one but if you happen to need "more" after the Margarita its just 3 minutes up the street.

Fun and beautiful.

A very fun hike. We didn't plan to do any exploring here but when our other plans fell through we were lucky enough to find this gem. There is no shade so make sure you bring sunscreen and water. There are also many paths and different trails so be mindful of where you have been and where you are going. But exploring new trails is half the fun.

Loved it! A fun hike, came down feeling like a kid. Not just foot work there are place as you get closer to the top you climb and get your hands involved. Climbing the boulders was great, what views!

Really pretty, but unable to finish due to SO MANY BEES! If you're afraid or allergic to bees this is not the best hike for you. Wish I could finish cause it was so beautiful, but couldn't risk getting stung.

I live in Fallbrook and had no idea this was here. The trail is severely washed out at some parts but it makes for a more fun adventure! Note: There are bees everywhere!! And it's in direct sunlight so bring sunscreen. There are 2 abandoned cars, if you veer to the right there's a white car at the base of the rocks, if you head left and start preparing to rock climb, you will come across another car. It's worth scrambling up the rocks for the amazing views! Sit up top and think about life or turn around and head back down, it can be a short hike or a long hike depending on how far you linger around. I bet the ocean views are amazing on a clear day.

Rough and eroded social trail, steep in places. Really enjoyed the short, easy rock scramble at the end. Amazing views from up top. The graffiti on the rocks is a downer.

the stairs led to rocks at top of hill, but another half of the trail was not clearly marked. due to recent rain most of the path has been over grown and not recently traversed. at the end of one path I meet a fence that had to be climbed over.

The route on the map doesn't show the 1 mile loop below the in and out trail.

Nice little morning hike! Good views on a clear day. Yes the graffiti sucks but it's still a nice hike

Could have done without the graffiti all of the way up the rocky section...

Fun little hike. Just follow the beer cans and graffiti.

Short with a sweet view! loved it.

My favorite quick hike. You can be up and down within an hour if you don't stop for long and chill at the top. Climbing up the rocks at the top is my favorite part. There are some hooks at the top for repelling or climbing too!

Overall an awesome hike. I took my girlfriend and her older brother and it was really fun and very peaceful too. There was a lot of graffiti on the rocks so that was kinda a bummer. Great view and will be back again! :)

Pretty easy trail for beginners. All I ate that day was a banana and I had a half gallon of water. Made it to the rocky top in a fair amount of time. And I don't usually go on trails that much.

great short hike with awesome views! And a good workout because it is all uphill!

Sunday, October 19, 2014

Climbed this today, after a visit to the Lavender Hills Pumpkin Patch, with our 5 and 7 yr old boys. They loved the rock climbing at the top, though I was a bit nervous having the at the part that overlooks the climbing walls. Overall, great short hike to do,

good hike, it is a little tougher at the top with all the rocks but it was fun climbing to the top! if you're looking for a good exercise in a decent amount of time then this is a good one!

This was more than just walking up something and declaring victory - some climbing over big rocks to get to the top, which was fun to putz around on. A little out of the way with very few people - good way to kill an hour plus drive time.

I did this at 5 in the morning for a little sun rise hike. I had a lot of fun running up this one! Once the dirt trail ends there's a little bit of rock climbing at the top. I brought my boxer and had to pick him up on a few of the bigger rocks he couldn't get over.

Pretty good hike but way too short! Got up the mountain in 15-20 minutes, at a mosey pace. Nice views of groves in Fallbrook.
