HikingGreat!

I had some Great moments on this trail! Climbing on the Rocky Mountain side, and then walking through an area with high brush. It had its challenges, but also peaceful moments. Also great Views in front of you and behind you. I stumbled on this trail after the Coyote trail and I was so happy to have found it.

You take the West Ridge trail and then turn right down to the Rock-It Trail. Rock-it trail was fun- very rocky downhill! We detoured the last third of the trail and returned through the Car Wreck Trail. There was moderate shade on the last half of the trail and a nice creek that you follow for a bit. This will kick your butt uphill but it’s worth it!

one of the more exerting trails at top of the world. rock-it loop starts off on the heavily trafficked west ridge trail for about a mile. once you get to rock-it trail that's where the real fun begins. the single track trail has rock gardens sprouting up all throughout the downhill run. once you make it down to coyote trail you get a more calming hike, some parts in the canopy and some right next to the creek but make no mistake the real work is right around the corner. upon meeting up with mathis trail you are about to enter the last but also the hardest part of the hike. mathis trail is a heart pumping, glute burning incline that seems to never end. make sure you look over to the left and see other hikers taking on car wreck, a shorter more vertically challenging trail that is a must for every top of the world hiker. once merging back on to west ridge trail be at peace, you have done the hard work. enjoy the walk back up to the parking lot stopping at least once to look across the 133 and see the crazies making the trek up big bend. big bend is no joke!

Great, well-maintained and marked loop trail. Beautiful, stunning views! Coyote Run Trail portion was closed, so we picked up Wood Canyon Trail, adding approximately another mile or so to the hike. Be cautious - Most mountain bikers seem to lack trail etiquette! All in all a perfect Sunday Funday, though!!

I enjoyed this hike. We took west ridge from the park entrance and over to rocket. Easy to moderate. There are a couple of hilly areas so a good workout. It is mostly open with a tree partial area. A couple of trails are closed because of the recent fire. Had to hike another 1 mile. Definitely worth doing!

So fun! It’s really not as hard as it sounds just make sure to pace yourself going up the incline on rock it trail.

Tough hike if you take the difficult trails at a quick pace. Mind you footing but you get breaks that a wide smooth trails and easy inclines. Mountain bikers seriously fly by so listen and watch. Beautiful and can make anything you want.

It was a beautiful hike. We started at Alta Laguna Park and went on West Ridge, Roc k-it, Cayote Run, Dripping Cave, Wood Canyon, Meadows, and Aswut Trails. The last part was through the residential area on Alta Laguna Boulvard. I believe it was around ten miles. We saw dears, coyotes and a snake.

Loved it! Took me exactly 2 hours but I jogged for the downhill part. I went the opposite way on accident and I think it was a lot more difficult the way back. I got pretty nervous since I stupidly didn't bring enough water. But it was so beautiful. Will definitely come back and bring friends! And more water!

If you press to get directions to this trail , it will take you to a neighborhood that has no entrance at all, to any trail. I was very disappointed. How does anyone access this trail ?
