this was a surprising trail. My first thought was that it would be a very open, hot hike.
In the summer it would be a touch hot but Sunday was nice. there are alot of trail options with access
to great river views. Some climbing on the way back but nothing too harsh.there was a little mud but it had rained a couple days before. Enjoy

Really great trail with a lot of variation. Beautiful water views, water falls, and some cool old structures from the former railroad. Many people running this trail. Get there early for parking!

Off Highway 49, leads to several trails. We ended up taking the one down to the river/railroad tracks. Good mix of incline/decline.

Good hike. Trails are nicely marked- but there are a few different trails. From this trail head you head down and to the left to find the waterfall. We took a few wrong turns- but worth it!! Beautiful hike!

Ok trip..We parked on 49 and only hiked a mile before we ended at another parking area. Signs indicated we were at the point but could continue on to Auburn Rec Staging Area (another 1.3 miles). We opted to just turn around there. Minimal climbing on this hike. It was just ok. Wished it was longer. Per my calculations it doesn’t add up to the 5 miles I thought I read it was. Non the less it was an easy lazy Sunday afternoon stroll.

Happy 4th Hike. It was a good trail. Lots of poison oak on either side. Most of the trail is wide but there are areas that are single track. Didn’t see any water fails but did pass over a few very minor streams.

Great hike! I took my dog for a nice long walk today, it was fun to explore all the trails, weather was perfect, cool breeze kept us from sweating too much. Take lots of water!

Nice wide trail to walk on and to move outta the way if you do see people, bikes, or horses. The up and down of the hills helps work a variety of muscles so no single group feels overworked. I had to take a few breaks to catch my breath going up on a couple but it was easy most of the time. It’s beautiful and peaceful. We found old foundation where a settlement used to be about a mile in to the right before you get to the fork to Rattlesnake Bar. Lots a poison oak all around the trails so be on the lookout.

Easy nice trail. The trail itself isn’t too long but does lead to many other trails.

Parking was easy and free, so that’s a good way to start things off! The trail was pretty easy to maneuver, and is pretty neat in the early morning. Later in the morning, I noticed a lot more trail runners and other people (not a bad thing at all, just an observation). I will say the views are pretty killer for a fairly short hike. Also, if you are in it for fitness reasons the last 1/4 mile is a good leg burner! I would totally recommend it!

We walked exactly along the map, but did not find the waterfall!

Very pretty trail easily accessible, not too many people. Great day hike.

Bring $10 for the Auburn State Rec Area park/ing fees!

Would not really advise doing this trail in the middle of summer as there's not much shade cover and it's super hot and dusty. The "end" point is pretty anti-climactic (think you just hit a "no entry" point) - we tried to take a different route down that ended up being super steep and had to crab-crawl down at some points, so make sure you have the right shoes for it if you want to try that.

Good hike with lots of different trails. We started in a residential lot (kind of got lost here) and ended up finding the fire trail and taking it to the bridge trail. 80% of the hike was in the sun, but other than that the trail was wide and nice view of water. Didn't go past the bridge though. Solid 2 hours exploring here

Great hike and was definitely a bit of a challenge, mostly downhill on the way out but the way back was mostly uphill so just be prepared. There are a lot of turn offs, so it was really helpful to have the map open on AllTrails to keep to the main route. However, you can make the trail all your own by taking different turns. Was mostly shaded and had some nice views. We found a little turn off that led us to a bench and had a great view of the river. Bring water!

The hike was beautiful!! There wasn't that many people but the people we did see were very nice and helpful:) the waterfall wasn't super big but it still was breathtaking to see, some advice would be to bring lots of water and be prepared for and uphill walk on the way back. Overall it was a beautiful hike and I would definitely do it again!

Bring an ass ton of water during the summer and be prepared for some uphill shit and speaking of, i ate shit on this trail soooo it lightweight sucked but the river was so fun to swim in once you finally get there, we used a short cut i guess that we found and we almost died of heatstroke on the way back but we good

Super exposed on the side of the mountain for long periods of time. The dogs feet were getting too hot and I felt very bad for her. Very very far down to the water.

This was bad. I got rammed and stomped by a buck about 1.2 miles . Guess it's that time of the year

Beyond that. It was nice

Good downhill hike in. Not a ton of shade, but great views. Getting down to the water is great, but the way back up is almost all up. Might be tough for some people.

Took us a few loops and trails to find the right path to the river! Ended up having to use the map on this app and it really helped! Beautiful day and will be coming back!

Not sure we actually did the whole trail, but we did get to Robie point and came down to the river on our way back. Beautiful trail with some steep hills

Great hike, bit the trails aren't marked very well. Ended up making one major with turn that had all directions going back to the trail which was confusing.

Great moderate trail lots of up and down. Beautiful clean trail. A few water features. Bridges and river views.

Con: pet friendly trail do there was a lot of horse manure and dog poop on trail.

Will be going again.
