This trail is great for those days you don't want to hike up a steep elevation but just want to get outdoors. It is a popular location for beginner mountainbikers The trail is well maintained and has a lot of shade. The trail is pretty narrow and you'll have to move to the side to let mountain bikers pass. At the end of the trail is Skyline Wilderness. The gate at hwy 221 opens at 8:00 AM and will close 2 hours prior to the main gate closing time. Park extended hours are 8:00 AM till 7:00 PM. (summer) The River to Ridge gate will close at 5:00 PM Park normal hours are 8:00 AM till 5:00 PM (winter). The River to Ridge gate will close at 3:00 PM.

Hurray, no dogs! The trail begins in town and traffic (park in a nicely paved lot to the left of Streblow Drive), and soon passes into a narrow path between two chain link fences as you escape civilization. After a bit of that, it opens up into a delightful, meandering, well-trod dirt & rock trail that goes all the way to Skyline Wilderness Park. It's definitely an easy hike, though not at all a waste of time.

Make sure you’re out of the gate before 5pm; but if you do get locked in there’s a hole in the chain link fence about 10 meters back that you can crawl through then hop the non-barbed wire fence to the south of the locked gate to get out.

Closed, gate locked with a sign that says “entry only during posted park hours” that aren’t posted anywhere. 130 on a Sunday is a No I guess. ☹️

This was great on a weekday, I can only imagine that it would be crowded with mountain bikes on a weekend.

This was rocky but mostly flat grounds. Little to no shade throughout.... So make sure you bring sunblock! Also lots of horse poop on the trail. Be aware of snakes too, we saw a small one on the trail. There's a lot of bike riders on this trail too. There's a parking lot that you have to pay for parking which leads right into the trail but we turned into strebowl and found a free parking lot near the school! Have fun!

This was great trail for my son's first official MTB ride. He struggled with the hilly fire road on the other trails but this one was perfect.

River to Ridge is a 1.5mi trail from Napa Valley College into Skyline Wilderness Park. Not a lot of elevation gain, but some nice rocky technical terrain. Great for hiking, biking, trail running & horseback riding.

This trail is great for those days you don't want to hike up a steep elevation but just want to get outdoors. The trail is well maintained and has a lot of shade. The trail is pretty narrow and you'll have to move to the side to let mountain bikers pass. At the end of the trail is Skyline Wilderness Park, so you could continue on another trail or go play frisbee golf.
In the winter the trail can be closed due to flooding.
