Visitors must obtain a permits from the San Gabriel River Ranger District (626) 335-1251. They are free but, you must be 18 years old or older have a valid driver's license to obtain. Visitors MUST have an Adventure Pass for parked cars in the area.

Trail is partially open from the east side. The gate is closed, you need to check in with the ranger across the way and they give you the combination. They only allow you to drive 10 miles west. Had I known, I would have come down the highway 2. It's a good drive, not difficult but scenic towards the top.

Is it open paste the second gate all the way to Angeles Crest? Is the second gate opened? I think it's 8 miles in to the second gate.

I love this trail for its ease and views... but today I brought my sister with her CRV since this is so easy. Trump Government Shut Down!!!! Both HOV and Trail are closed until Trump decides to wake up and do his job.

Rode my Africa twin and almost die due twice because of dune buggy that going 40+mph through corners. Highly recommend to remove ear protection on this trail, look out for mountain biker going +40mph downhill, lookout for slow moving vehicle when speeding through the downhill.

It was my first experience intentionally off roading, however, I have driven off road before when on the beach or looking for trails. This was no different. I had a blast even though it was easy. The scenery changes the higher you go. I made it all the way to the top and back down in about 4 hours with regular photo stops in my stock 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Got my pass at the OHV office in Glendora and drive up. You need a permit to go up (it’s free) and a code will be provided to you to unlock the gate entrance. I went up on a Tuesday for sunset and was the only vehicle up there so I had a blast.

Super chill & scenic trail. Took my stock 2016 Crosstrek up there as my intro to off road/trail riding.

Easy trail. Great wildflowers while we were there (Early June 2018). Most vehicles could do this trail. We climbed right up it in our stock 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.

I ride my dual sport here often, the tail is easy but beware of the steep drops on the side. Ride carefully! You will need a permit to ride or drive here so stop by the San Gabriel OHV area on Sat/Sun and register (its free). With registration you get access to the gate for two weeks before needing to re-register

Very easy 10 mile trail to do. The best view is at the end of the trail where there is a closed gate and you must turn back around. Must get a permit from the Glendora Ranger Station to get the lock combo to the gate. I would rate it 5 star if it wasn’t because you have to turn back around. Please don’t liter and help keep these trails clean for everyone’s enjoyment.

Went up last night around 10pm during high gust winds in a 1997 Subaru Outback Sport. car is pretty much factory, on 17" Legacy Wheels and worn Factory Michelin Tires. As stated, trail is closed about 10miles in but still a decent trail for beginners and non-lifted vehicles. Might rate higher once we get a chance to try out the rest of the trail when the gates open up!

trails are not hard at all, definently be careful though there are some areas that are weak due to recent rains

Trail is closed 10 miles in. It is a very easy drive even though it's listed as "moderate", it is not. More for the views and turnouts along the way. You will need a permit to gain access to the gate combination lock.
