Trailhead adjacent to my property. Have hiked this trail many times. Great workout going up. Love the views. Once you have reached the top, turn right and return via Hidden Villa. 2-2.5 hours total, depending on speed.

Steep climb. Easier on the way down. Be careful hiking here after rains, lots of fallen trees and slippery soil. On the plus side, lots of shade and not many people. Once you are at the top, you can continue on the Chamise Trail, this links all the way to Deer Hollow Farm in the San Antonio Preserve via High Meadow Trail. Come early like around 11amish and you will probably take about 3.25 hours to do all the three trails.

Parked at Foothill College and hiked into Rhus Ridge. This adds about a mile each way, if you can't get parking at the trail head, and if the meter is working, there's a $3 parking fee.

Good amount of shade and sun- a climate for everyone! Nice steady incline up and careful footing on the way back down. Did it wearing a baby, and gave me a nice challenge while staying upright.

Hiked up 12/31/17. Parking lot is small. Pleasantly cool around 4pm. Steady incline for the entire 0.9 mile. Views are nice but blocked by trees. Mary Davey Loop trail at the top is a nice mostly level 0.6 mile warm down loop.

Lots of exercise in a short climb! Hard to get parking but less people than the main entrance of the Rancho

Mostly boring walk on road constantly going up, with occasional excellent views.

This trail links with the San Antonio trail. It has a few steep climbs but well worth the effort. The panoramic views are fantastic. On a clear day you can see the City and the east bay. Even without the views this is a great trail. San Antonio can get crowded with people and baby strollers. You won't find this here. If you want to walk with your earphones on and not have to deal with walking around people, then this is the place. Parking is a challenge though.
