HikingGreat!

Easy but enjoyable hike on a wide trail. The pond on the southwest part of the larger loop is a fun place to watch some ducks and other animals. Some have noted that airplanes fly overhead; Ramona airport is nearby so you definitely hear quite a few small planes coming and going. I saw one rattlesnake today but it was no bother.

Very nice easy hike. We went at 8 am and it was still almost too hot! There were intermittent swarms of gnats. There was no shade. Beautiful scenery.

My girls and I really enjoyed this hike... Great hike for the family, if you want a nice casual hike without massive inclines or declines!

Nice easy walk through relatively flat grasslands. We saw lots of squirrels, one rabbit, and a little kangaroo rat. We brought binoculars to view the hawks overhead. Weather was beautiful. Good for all ages, dogs on leashes, and horses. Bring water, there is very limited shade. Two port-o-potties are located in the parking lot. Trail is well maintained. Great trail, fairly level, with nice views. We took the Wildflower Loop and saw many different flowers. Parking was quite busy, but everyone was good about distancing, so we felt perfectly safe. So nice to get out for a hike again!

Went here two days ago with family and it was a really fun experience, my younger brother complained he didn’t see any bald eagles and insisted on calling every rabbit (and there were plenty) a kangaroo rat. The trail starts very flat with absolutely no shade, later on their are a few pockets of shade but nothing substantial. There is a small pond with a picnic table and I saw lots of hikers wearing masks, bikers, and even a few local horses.

I did this trail last year so late in writing this....beautiful and idyllic and serene nature walk. The only thing I didn’t appreciate were the small aircrafts flying overhead. Why must they fly over the preserve? Other then that, this preserve is a treasure and a nice getaway from the city.

Considering I’m hiking after the trails just opened up along with a 1/2 capacity parking lot it was very enjoyable. A bit warm, and many people.

Super trails for smaller children w parents. Equestrians and people with dogs will enjoy both the smaller and larger loop. Not especially challenging but terrific scenery makes up for it.

Nice easy trail suitable for families and dogs. Watch for the cows! We are probably a week early for what will surely be a beautiful wildflower walk. Good parking, easy access. Recommend.

Great trail for hiking, shakedowns, walking the dog, horses. There’s some shade along the trail, benches and a little pond w/ ducks. The grasslands are beautiful when it’s green. I like hiking when it’s overcast and cloudy.
