Went on a Saturday afternoon. Most of the path is wide enough for social distancing and sharing with mountain bikers. I saw about eight people the entire time. Really lovely and great for dogs. Parking was simple too.

Bathroom and parking at trailhead. More suited for mountain biking than hiking. Some parts of the route were harder to follow, I ended up missing a few turns. Many people not wearing masks or face coverings, but paths are wide except for a few sections.

Red tails and flickers overhead. Buggy, but quiet on the high loop

We went up counterclockwise which worked out well- steady on a wide dirt trail through a beautiful eucalyptus forest. Lots of little flies until we were 2/3 of the way to the top then a gentle breeze and no flies til we got back down. Beautiful canyon views and some harbor too. Uncrowded.

Great getaway from the heat and not crowded as it’s neighbors in Pacifica and half moon bay. I got off the trail like three times so check your map.

Hike was buggy. The eucalyptus groves are beautiful. The northern half of the loop is a crazy bike downhill with banked turns and jumps.

We thought the incline should warrant a Hard level. We saw almost no wildlife, but enjoyed the wild flowers throughout. It was almost empty when we went. A handful of mountain bikers to watch out for. No signage, so the offline map on this app was so helpful! First time user.

It’s beautiful in parts and quirky in others, kind of like El Granada itself. The gum trees are tall and airy and cathedral-like; I am constantly surprised they’re not universally adored. You have to not mind the occasional onslaught of tiny caffeinated dogs. Find a side path and choose it!

We totally enjoyed this nice and challenging trail. Great view of Pillar Point from Vista Point. We saw lots of poison ivy on the side of the side of the trails. Lots of nice trees along the way. No signage at all. So we relied on the AllTrails map to keep us on track.

Good trail. Got there around 11 on a Sunday and was able to find parking. First 2 miles are intense and steep, but there’s a lot of shade. Lack of signs make it hard to know where to go, and we went down the wrong path a few times. The app map definitely helps. Some parts were in direct sunlight so recommend bringing a hat! Plenty of space on the trail to social distance

What I like most about this hike is that it offers a lot of uphill. The reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because it was hard to navigate without signs. We eventually made it back to the parking lot but because we have a good sense of direction. The trail is shaded and surrounded by eucalyptus trees. Overall a good hike.
