Rock climbing

Oasis was nice. Trail easy to follow using all trails but see why people got confused.

Great trail. We took the ridge (views were spectacular) to the Palms and came back on the lower trail. Trail up the rocks coming out of the Palms was pretty difficult but we made it. Overall lovely hike!

We got terribly lost on this trail 2/3 of the way through the loop when you come out into the Palm trees. We genuinely were not sure if we could get back and ended up doing 5.5 miles and totally going off trail for the second half of the hike. It was beautiful until we got lost, but it absolutely should have been clearer marked.

HikingGreat!

Beautiful, spectacular views of the Coachella Valley and especially the otherworldly Little San Bernardino Mountains. Nice loop and enjoyable to see the oasis. We went just before dusk, which I would 100% recommend. Be careful of wind, though, we were met with 60+ mph winds on the ridgeline.

Leads to a very cool oasis; however, the trail isn’t well marked, so it can become confusing at times. Hiking trail is primarily on a ridge, so exposed to elements more than other trails, particularly wind.

CAUTION: The hike in is great! BUT the loop markers are not always well marked. If you take the ridge in, take a left at the oasis and follow the water. When you find the marker pointing right, KEEP FOLLOWING THE WATER. The water disappears at the source but the trail leads back to the parking lot.

Really nice hike but crazy wind up on the ridge so we walked the valley trail until the loop.

Beautiful trek along a ridge line to a canyon full of palms. It feels like you’re in a prehistoric era, very cool. We went when it was very windy — too windy at times. So be careful of conditions, as the formal trail goes along a precarious ridge line.

Windy on the ridge but calm in the oasis. Fun scramble returning to the plateau after the valley.

HikingGreat!

Great hike. We took the ridge line to the palm oasis which was much more interesting than expected. The streams were running and there were many different sized paw prints in the mud. The biodiversity of the desert is amazing. We took the horseshoe trail back but plan on doing this like again where we will take the loop back to the visitor center.
