Cute banana slugs!

I actually did a shorter loop - Purisima Creek > Craig Britton > Harkins Ridge Trail which is about a 7 mile loop. Tons of banana slugs, mushrooms, redwoods, and other trees that made this hike perfect to start off 2020! Ending with Harkins Ridge was tough on the knees, so next time I’d start with Harkins which would be a steep incline to start but then a gradual decline with a Craig Britton ending with a flat scenic walk back to the car.

Did this one a few years ago and LOVED it! The canopies were so thick it seemed dark and eerie.

Pleasant and textbook “walk in the woods” with beautiful Redwoods amidst a verdant valley floor, rivers, and bridges. Some views (if the weather cooperates) at the high points.

Loved this hike! I wouldn’t say it was “hard” - the up and downhills were really nice and leveled . Not much of a view on a foggy day but beautiful regardless :)

Great trail.

One of the better options when it’s raining: not too slick!

i liked this trail. because of the frequency of the flat portions to inclines, i’d classify it on the low end of moderate. it is quite a pleasant trail. i was entertained the entire time and took a ton of photos of cool trees. the early morning light through the colors of fall trees was a great way to spend the day : )
