I would definitely not call this trail easy as there are very steep up and down parts, but the views at the top make it worth it! Park in one of the first lots when you drive in and the trailhead is towards the entry booth against the hill.

I had low expectation of this trail from the reviews but was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Super easy, a little overgrown in some spots but overall pretty decent for a quick hike. Saw lots of birds and wildflowers. Great 360 views of Orange County all the way to the ocean.

Took the Horseshoe Loop Trail out and returned via Puma Ridge. Puma Ridge is not well marked and it seems we diverted from the trail as mapped a couple of times. Instead of hiking a steep up we traversed a switchbacking trail that either is or isn’t the actual trail. Eventually, we met back to the mapped trail.

Great 360 degree view of OC from the top of Puma Ridge Trail. Park in the lot in between the guard shack and park entrance sign, then backtrack slightly to pick up trailhead.
