Pogonip Creek Nature Loop is a 1.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Santa Cruz, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
several homeless camps and a significant amount of trash at the bottom of the trail. i said hello to everyone I passed and received about 20% greeting in return - (Covid/Trump malaise). Its Oct 6th, people are in s real funk for fear Trump takes it again. Anyway , I had decent sweat going by the time I reached the top; I’m 60 yr old and I just sweat slot anyway. It’s not very strenuous at all.
Super cool to see rock stacking, Coi pond, red woods and railroad tracks. Very steep in areas, plenty of places to go by the river.
