The crater, caves, and tubes are all on PRIVATE PROPERTY. You can drive up pretty close until you see the private property signs, but exploring the crater and it’s surroundings is trespassing.

Explored several caves. Glove cave has a register book that you can sign in. The caves are fascinating to me! Some of the caves you will need to crawl on the rocky surface. I recommend a head lamp. I was carrying a flashlight which is hard to do as you are climbing up or down rocks and crawling through cave openings. Make sure you have enough water. It’s a unique experience that I highly recommend!

Super fun exploring. A little difficult for my old dog but would be great for young ones

I spent three hours here and found 8 of the numerous lava tubes of various sizes. I spent an hour in one tube to savor the experience. Some are too small to get in, some are crawlable, and others you can stand up in and go quite a way back. I will return another time to find more. You can spend 30 minutes or a whole day exploring. I do have a record of this trip with waypoints for the handful of tunnels I found but had to load it separately because this app doesn't work properly with my phone. I would not recommend this in summer, no shade except in the tubes, snakes etc. Be careful and don't get stuck.
