What a great trail. I'd suggest going counterclockwise so you get the most busy trail done early. Even saw a lil bobcat near the farm!

The cove is so beautiful with the waves and the rocks. Though there were some plastic bottles, not too much trash seen. Getting to the cove is fun and challenging, using both hands and knees at times, very worth it. Made a bad choice returing to parking lot via Costal trail then Tennessee valley down - very boring.

Beautiful trail, the map here doesn’t reflect the current closures but there are plenty of workarounds. The descent into Tennessee Valley from the south can be tough, if you’re wary on the downhill it’s best to do this trail North to South. This trail has lots of pounding oak and in some places it’s nearly impossible to avoid - I’d recommend pants.

Great trail. Lots of up and down and pretty steep slopes. Section closer to the coast has great views of the ocean. Other section is mostly hilly views. Bring lots of water especially if it’s hot. Not too crowded if you go before 10am.

Read a review how the beginning from the parking lot was a bit steep and then it cooled after that, and I would agree. I was hoping to find the brewery that someone mentioned in a different review - still can't... :(. Hike is great though! A quick ~3miles

Beautiful hike, perfect for our family with two kids 6 and 11. Breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and nice up and down hike. The beginning from Muir beach parking lot is a little steep and long but it’s worth it!!

Awesome trail along the coast.. some inclines in between that we weren’t expecting but overall pretty moderate to semi hard trail depending on which way you take.. we took a detour on way back which was steep but worth it.. ended up in this secret garden with a hammock posted pretty cool then looped took us around to a brewery nice way to end the hike :)

I hiked this trail today with friends for New Years day. It is a beautiful trail with ocean views. Right now the trail is VERY muddy. Wear shoes with good tread and that you don't mind getting dirty. There is a bit of scrambling down rocks to get to pirate's cove beach.

Very chilly and overcast, but beautiful views nonetheless. Several muddy spots, but for the most part, the paths were packed enough or covered in enough gravel to keep it from being a real problem. Trail signs are very easy to see.

I wouldn’t recommend when warm/dry. There’s no shade or cover. But great views.

Beautiful hike with amazing views of the sea for 85% of it. Not a bard climb and the trek down to the cove only lasts a few minutes. Definitely would recommend!

Absolutely gorgeous hike with a steep scramble down to the cove. The rest of the way was well paved and so amazing to gain some elevation. If you keep going you’ll probably hit Tennessee Beach. Bring water and small snack and hat as there isn’t any shade. Breath taking and no crowds on a Thursday afternoon. I’d wear shoes with traction to get down to the cove.

That was an amazing trail. I went to coyote ridge as well, worth it. Trail was in great shape and weather clears up almost always after 1. 5 out of 5!!
