The Pipeline Ridge Road Trail bisects the entire section of Henry Cowell Redwood State park. Hike from the Park Office and Entrance Station all the way through to the Horse Grounds. This trail offers stunning views of the San Lorenzo River Valley. This trail is paved and open to hikers and bikers. This trail is dog friendly, but the dirt trails that intersect it are not dog friendly.

I have fallen in love with this trail! It is beautiful and well maintained. One thing that really bothered me: I always hike with my dog, and many of the trails connected to this trail have signage that says dogs are not allowed. I really wanted to explore these other trails and spend more time there, but it seems I am limited to only the one paved trail.

Great walk through a second growth redwood forest. We saw tons of dogs today and may have been the busiest trail we’ve been on in California in the past year. The whole road is paved and there’s just one real downhill / uphill section. Lots of shade, with beautiful dappled life coming through to the forest floor. Some poison oak off the trail, but it’s wide enough you shouldn’t need to bump into any.

Not really a trail, but a paved path. Great scenery and workout. Great for dogs. There are many trails that feel more like a real hike that branch off from Pipeline Road, however dogs are not allowed on those.

Took Pipeline road trail to Ridge Fire trail to get to observatory point. Hiking through the redwoods on the pipeline trail is so beautiful! Ridge trail is so interesting. It goes up the mountain but the path is covered in white beach sand. Beach sand on top of a mountain is unheard of. This is because the top of the mountain used to be under the ocean 10 million years ago!!! Entire hike (round trip) is about 6.5km and it took 2 hours - from the beginning of pipeline to observation deck and back.

Lots of poison oak, but if you stay on the path, you’re fine. A few spots where you can take dogs down to the river.

What a rewarding hike. The look out point is breathtaking.

Pipeline trail is all paved and kind of an easier end of a moderate rating. We ended up with switching to river trail to eagle creek trail and make a loop and come back out. Those trails are primarily for mountain biking. Don’t forget the bug spray when you reached the higher elevation part of eagle creek trails.

Beautiful views, a couple tough hills. Great path for dog walkers. Henry Cowell is a gem!

If you have dogs the only option is to follow the pathed path the entire trail- it's not allowed to cross over to other trails. There's a few steep hills for a good viewpoint at "overlook bench". For the $10 day use fee it was modest

All paved and lots of other trails to explore into. Really cool river spots to checkout right off the road.

Took this trail to get to a redwoods trail by making the process longer for the .8 mile redwoods loop inside Henry Cowell, having parked on Hwy 9. It was a decent 2 mile addition, bit once we were in park, discovered more scenic trails that would have been better to extend the redwood loop. Decent trail to avoid paying the state park entrance fees.

Great paved trail for dogs. Not a place to go if you are looking for solitude. The redwoods & scenery are beautiful!

Pipeline is the easiest trail in the park. It's paved most of the way and pet friendly

There are highlights on this trail and it's a very nice family friendly hike. Worth a visit, but would probably get boring on repeat visits.

I love this place, I went here frequently when Iived in SC. Start on pipeline and follow the river; I always did this trail to the overlook because you can bring your dog, but nowhere else in the park unfortunately. Not challenging but great times among beautiful giant redwoods!

This is a paved road just outside of the redwoods and paralleling the river. Not as pretty and majestic as the redwood section but still a good walk. Dogs are welcome on this trail
