I did an 6.5 mile out-and-back version of this hike that goes to the summit of Pinyon Ridge instead of dropping down to Big Pines Highway (as shown on this page). I don't think it's worth going to Big Pines Highway unless you're looking to add mileage and gain. Overall, this is a relatively easy hike with nice views of the high country and desert. It's also pretty secluded; I only saw one group of dirt bikers (the entire hike is on a dirt road). The summit is anti-climatic though.

wasnt really much there. was flat for the most part so not much elevation change making it interesting. views were okay but not as nice as other hikes in close proximity.

Beautiful trail. Great views of surrounding canyons and the desert beyond. I hiked it just after it snowed, but the trail was very well marked.

Nice trail with great views of Azusa Canyon. Clearly marked trail was easy to navigate. Some elevation changes kept it interesting. Hiked this on a Friday and saw no one else on the trail.
