We took this trail all the way to Patterson lake. It was beautiful and pretty easy to the basin. After the basin, you start to climb and although just 3.5ish miles more to Patterson, it was pretty tuff for some in our group. The lake is definitely worth the effort. The camp sites are so nicely arranged and well thought out. The climb isn’t horrible , but with weight it is hard. We had very fit people in our group who were breathing hard. I don’t think I would want to day hike this. Not to Patterson, anyway, But can’t wait to come back. We did catch some fish in Patterson, but unlike when I was here as a child, they were not really biting too much. Parking lot was very nice as well with lots of room for multiple cars.

Beautiful trail running alongside a creek, two accessible lakes.

This is a relatively easy and pleasant valley hike, largely along a series of fast running streams, at least in late June. Most of the trail is enclosed within a forest canopy, featuring some spectacular old growth trees. There are several ponds, or small lakes, running just to the side of the trail. A few of them are worth visiting. The largest lake, at the end of the trail, was not accessible in any way that we could determine. We tried several paths and each ended in a jumble of large boulders that we did not feel like scrambling over. The trail is easy to follow, in part because it's used by horses. The downside is that horse trails attract flies. Otherwise, it's quite nice.

This is a great trail, with beautiful lakes and a meadow. the road in was in good condition. the trail is very nice. the trail is about 3 miles to pine creek basin, it will take about 90 min if you are semi-athletic. The trail does get steep near the basin. You can continue up to lake Patterson which will add about 1.4 miles (one way) to your trek and 2000 feet of elevation gain Great fishing, caught 7 fish the first day. I would rate the trail as easy to moderate, but if you continue to Patterson it will be hard. Also there is potential for snow in July so pack accordingly. (see pics, the snow and tent pic is July 10, 2016)

Did this hike in June with my trusty companion Schubert. The Weather was perfect. The bugs weren't too bad, and the views at the end are great. All in all a great experience.
