Would have been an easier hike had I not forgotten my water

We hiked this trail mid June and it was beautiful. The up hills were a challenge but the view once you get up into the trees and can see the skyline is great. Definitely a great workout!

Great trail to do with kids. There were a lot of little creeks in the middle.

From a view standpoint starts off slow. Then when you get to the wooded area it opens up nicely.

Hiked it in Oct and while a nice hike, it'll be much better in spring and early summer when the creeks are flowing. They are dry now. Saw a fox so that was cool.

Lots of shade to cool off in. Avoid during prime sun. Good 2 1/2 hour hike.

Hiked the first week of April- the sunny day after the rains. Very muddy, lots of cow pies, and multiple stream crossings. Shoes may get wet if you fail to jump over the streams or hop on rocks to cross. Bring extra shoes to change into if you are driving back home from the hike, as your shoes will be caked in mud! However the scenery was beautiful! Butterflies, blooming flowers, ground squirrels, cows, turkeys, earth worms, water falls, rivers/streams, and green everything! You get to see a couple elevated rock faces halfway through the loop. I recommend hiking here in the summer or after a week or more of sunny weather. I do not recommend this trail if it has recently rained (because of muddy terrain).

This is happy trail for horses. It's muddy and very hard to walk.

Had a great time hiking with a friend and my two 10 year old brothers. My brothers struggled a little bit towards the end but all in all it was a great hike that was shaded for over half the time. Beautifully scenery and would definitely do it again!

ended up taking stage road too far and added a couple miles and a few left turns, nonetheless awesome hike.

Great hike! I went there with my two boys (6 and 4 years old). They enjoyed the hike up and down, as well as through the valley. Scenery was beautiful. Kids were happy to see cows and horses. We also heard a woodpecker (wish we could find it) and saw floating dandelion seeds. It was a bit stretching for our 4-year-old but with a lot of encouragement and snack breaks, he managed to finish it all by himself.

Very nice trail. Nice mix of terrain. Note it takes circa 2hrs not the 4hr that was printed out on the map.

Great trail. Now when everything is green it is just so beautiful. I did it just after the rain the stream is zigzagging parts of the trail. It was a challenge to cross the stream in some places but it just added to the fun.

Great trail for moderate hiking or jogging. Fun creek hopping. Just don't mind the cows!

this was a beautiful hike. .. even though the streams are dried up do to the drought. .. was still breath taking as you walk towards the bottom of hike... Once you reach there the are more trails to choose from. .there is also a few picnic benches. .. great place to have little lunch an enjoy the beauty around. .. biggest downfall. . watch where you step... This trail has lots of horseback riding! !

This trail sits a hundred yards from my backyard...yet when hiking it seems like a million miles away. Great escape from the urban sprawl that surrounds it.

Beautiful dense oak woodland with meandering streams and views of Castle Rock and its buzzard roost. Lots of great birding! Saw Bullock's Orioles, Warbling Vireos, Orange-crowned Warblers, Oak Titmice and Chestnut-backed Chickadees, Nuttall's Woodpeckers, Mallards, Red-winged Blackbirds, Black Phoebes, House Wrens, Bewick's Wrens, Red-tailed Hawks, and Anna's Hummingbirds. Lots of purple wildflowers, crickets, and Chorus frogs. Great hike!
