First time on the trail was nervous at first but did the whole trail in a 2WD 4RUNNER, stayed on the main road for that reason, there were a few Scions and sedans not to mention a few family vans on the first part of the trail, so I knew my car can make it, up farther the road was rocky and my 4Runner conquered it from that point on, definitely going to do the trail again, also saw a bear run across the trail which was cool!

Easy if one stays on the main trail. Stayed in 4hi the majority of the time. Dropped into 4low for some of the moderate off shoots. Fun trail with cool views throughout, especially when up on the ridge.

Avoid gate keeper at 2N17X unless you have a high clearance 4WD vehicle with significant suspension travel and a skilled driver and spotter. Other than that the trail is a fun fairly easy/moderate trail of shelf roads work together to pass safely. Watch for hikers and dirt bikes. Help by picking up trash to keep the trails open for everyone.

Easy trail. The Forrest road itself is well maintained and accessible with a 2wd with some clearance. The off roads require 4wd. Many folks on the trail from dirt bikes to side by sides. Great views clear all the way through. Did this roughly 2 weeks ago

The part where you go to the cliff edge is overgrown and you can’t get all the way through. Avoid wing off trail. There were a lot of lose dirt and dirt bikes. I don’t recommend the trail at all, even for it’s gorgeous views.

Super easy. Took stock trucks with us (two full-sized). The off chutes needed 4wd, but i did the rest of the trail in 2wd. It was a little more rutted out than i remember it being when i went back in December. TONS of people just parked and hiking. Didn’t really have to wait for groups to move on though. Busy. But not crowded.

Did this trail in my stock 2019 4Runner SR5 in 2WD about 90% of the way. Used 4WD just to make some parts easier but could survive in 2. Pretty awesome trail with good views and plenty of offshoots for more advanced off-roading. Also a bunch of spots you can stop just to hang out/eat lunch. Went on a Sunday so it pretty busy with dirt bikes/quads/razrs but still worth the trip.

What a great trail! We actually took the trail that breaks left to “The Gate Keeper” trail which is no joke. I highly recommended 4WD if you go this route. Also if you do go down this trail you are committed until it connects back to the normal fire road! The normal fire road is very easy and any 2WD will be just fine. The Gate Keeper trail is very beautiful and definitely had some oh sh*t moments lol. Definitely go with some friends but nonetheless a very fun trail.

First off road trail in a stock Wrangler. Great place to see what it could do. Lots of little off shoots, and nice views.

Easy trail for 2wd vehicle if you stay on the main trail, as there's a few offshoot you can tackle with 4wd.

Easy trail for 2wd/4wd. Great views of Silverwood Lakes. Some areas are very narrow with tall bushes so be careful for on coming traffics. Offshoots are moderate to difficult. Some were perfect for my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Moab edition. Had a blast! You will be driving side of the lakes, top of the ridges and middle of the forest. We will be back for more trail exploration.

Nice views and a chill trail, always a lot of fun. Did all off shoots with 33's at the time. rated a 3 because level of difficulty extremely easy, scenic gets 5 stars.

Super fun trail. this trail is for beginners with options for intermediate to difficult. There are options for a picnicking hanging out by creeks and great scenery. The trail is 11.3 miles one way. Have fun and watch for oncoming traffic.

This is a totally awesome trail. My wife and I left early from Arrowhead with our two dogs in our Jeep. We wanted to avoid the heat of the mid day sun. It worked out perfectly and we had a great time. Hit the trail at 8am and was back home by noon. Dogs had a blast sniffing around on some of the side trails we hiked up. Air down to 18ish PSI and you can just cruise the entire thing without breaking a sweat. Or there are tons of black diamond side paths to test your rig and abilities. We will be back!
