This small but challenging loop route traverses an area that reminds one of pictures on the surface of the moon. It's a very strange place with many interesting side roads to explore. Connect to other trails in the area including Doran/Odessa Canyons and Wall Street Canyon Overlook). To make the trip more interesting, try the shortcut to Kramer Arch and the roller-coaster-like Mule Canyon Cut-Across Road. While in the area, make sure you visit Calico Ghost Town (fee area). Steep rocky climbs. Stretches of badly eroded pavement. Stock SUVs need skid plates and high ground clearance.

Calico is full of trails, so I think I missed a couple of miles of this trail, but super easy. I’m in a stock Jeep and made it through with ease.
