Peñasquitos Falls via Park Village is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near San Diego, California that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and nature trips and is accessible year-round.
Water was cold but great! Found a snake on the trail through the forest. Not too many people around. It was a really great day to hike.
A short mid day hike to the waterfalls before our leisurely drive along the beach from Del Mar to Carlsbad, stopping by for late lunch in Encinitas.
Nice and easy trail. There was trash here and there. Rewarding lil waterfall at the end. No restroom at entrance.
Fun trail, relatively kid friendly except for the actual falls. Did it with a 4 and 6 year old but not gracefully. My shoes will need some drying out!
Peñasquitos has a bunch of nice trails (for hiking and mountainbiking) around the waterfall. Pretty busy on the weekends. Lot of alternatives to this and all other trails so good for all skill levels and ages.
Super accessible, great biking trail, friendly peers. Surrounding area is nice with a ton of activity. Went with Joel and saw two deer (fawn and doe) and a coyote!! Saw some nice animals tracks too.
Enjoyable Saturday walk. This can be an easy stroll or a moderate hike with plenty of options to take a variety of paths along the main trail.
Nice trail but too many people at the waterfalls, many without masks so we turned back. Will need waterproof boots after rain to cross the water.
Good for kids (10,6&4 walked all of it). You have to climb across the waterfall halfway, wear water friendly shoes.
