The longest water carries on the Pacific Crest Trail are on this section. Make sure to check the water report at pctwater.com for the most current information and never rely on water caches! See you on trail.

This is a strenous hike from Hwy 58 to at least to Landers Mdws in the Piutes because its almost up hill and very steep and the windmills in that area are not to apealing either and it gets very windy in that area also, then when you drop down into kelso valley your in OHV teritory but I have not had problems with them, then you climb up into the Scodie Mtns which is really awsome but gets strenous again but your in wilderness. These are my kind of hikes, long and strenous.

Wow. Pick a month that is cool, bring water and conserve. A dry hike and trying. Only did a section as we work during the week.
