Gorgeous hike. Most difficult part is the first quarter, which I’d rate moderate after that it’s easy. As someone else mentioned, it’s closer to 2 miles each way, not 1.6. Went in mid October, aspens are turning I and no bugs!

Uphill from the parking for the first 1/2 mile. Then the trail runs along the creek before opening up to picturesque Lake Parker.

Very easy walk to a lake. The leaves on the trees are starting to turn gold!

Plenty shade after the first 1/3. Trail parallels stream for much of its length. Very few mosquitoes at lake or along trail, a pleasant surprise. Lovely lake, great trail.

Hot uphill— but worth seeing the lake. Apply big spray before getting to the lake

Using the AllTrails app, the lake is actually 2.0 miles from the parking lot, not 1.8, so the roundrip is 4 miles total. Shade is intermittent, so be careful on hot summer days. Mosquitos are worst as you approach the lake.

Pretty easy trail- the first 1/2 mile-ish is the steepest part and after that is gradual up hill until it levels out. It’s mostly flat and the lake is very pretty. We saw some people camped out who backpacked in (something to remember for the future). Great views of the lake. We had to cross the stream on a backed up dam on the stream flowing into the lake to get around to one side. Take the bug spray- take sun screen and a hat. Wished we had a hammock to pitch up at the lake.

Awesome hike! Beautiful views. Gravel road to trailhead and be prepared for the mosquitos.

Beautiful trail. The first half is the hard part, when you’re going up. The lake is gorgeous, and you can explore another trail that goes around the lake to the left (not included in the All Trails description and mileage). Just make sure you BRING BUG SPRAY WITH YOU!

Only 2 miles from the trailhead to the lake. First 3/4ths mike was hot and steep. Don’t be afraid to stop in whatever islands of shade present themselves. It gets easier. Got quite pretty when it leveled out and followed alongside the idyllic Parker creek. Lots of people fishing, but pretty much everyone left by the time I got to the lake. The water itself is pretty (be sure to try and get a view from above the shoreline, too). No camping spots to my liking along the north shore. I kept heading up, past the lake, bushwhacking until I got to another wooded grove. Stream is gorgeous here, but it wasn’t an easy bushwack in. Mosquitoes surround the lake. Bring long pants, long sleeves, and a good fighting knife if you want to stand a chance.

Great easy hike to a beautiful lake! All the climbing is done in the first 2/3 mile

Nice lake and very relaxing backdrop but the lake maybe half mile to and from the lake is along a stream that is a spawning ground for mosquitoes. I received about 30 bites and they made the hike and the lake pretty miserable. Be prepared if your going to do this hike.

Some friends and I hiked up to Parker Lake yesterday to do some trout fishing. The landscape changes 3 or 4 times, each one is incredibly beautiful. It’s a bit tough the first mile or so but not too grueling. The lake is breathtaking. A LOT of mosquitos though, so bring your bug spray. A great morning or afternoon hike.

I would recommend this trail is a good starter for those who want to get acclimated to the Sierras. Great for all levels. Saw lots of families and pets. There was a very recent mosquito hatch so the lake it’s self is very uncomfortable. Most people stay for just a couple minutes and then turn around and come back because the mosquitoes are so bad. Make sure you put on insect repellent and or bring it with you. Fishing could potential he be good with the recent hatch of mosquitoes but they’re so bad Norman is staying long enough to even drop a line.

Completed 7/5/2019. Gorgeous short hike passing through varying scenery - all beautiful. It’s a decent climb for at least the first half outbound. Take the trail to the left when you approach the lake to continue along the shore. Bring bug spray!

This was a beautiful hike, you get to see so many microclimates on the way! The beginning is challenging being all uphill, but it’s fairly gradual. It evens out after the first 3/4 of a mile or so. Super gorgeous the entire way!

Starting from the trailhead was slightly inclined but it’s not too bad. The trail is beautiful and the lake backdrop is spectacular.

It's a beautiful and relaxing hike to go on. There's a gradual incline most of the way to the lake, but definitely not too difficult. The path that leads around the inlet of the lake is extremely overgrown, If you need to head to the north side of the lake just take the path to the right when you first get to the lake. I suggest getting there early, the parking lot and trail can get pretty full around noon. The fish weren't too active when I went, but it's a nice relaxing place to fish.

Nice hike for younger kids to do. Incline at the beginning then levels off about 3/4 of the way there. Beautiful views along the river. With winter runoff the rapids are quite strong and fun to listen too. In spring/early summer, when you arrive at the lake look at the mountain face about 1/2 up. You will see a large waterfall from all the snow melt. Beautiful. You can hike part way around Parker lake too! Kind of a busy trail.
