Started out looking for food then made our way out to the 4 mile trail. Mist trail was closed, so detoured through the John Muir Trail.

HikingGreat!

By far my favorite hike I’ve ever done. We did the 4 mile trail to the panorama trail to the mist trail (around 15 miles I think?) and I highly recommend taking that route. It’ll kick your butt but so well worth it. Park at the trailhead of 4 mile trail and then you’ll end up by the upper pines campground which you can then take the shuttle back to your car. If you go in August you may get lucky with some warm water to swim in :)

Gorgeous views throughout this hike of the entire valley. I started at 8:30 from Glacier point and saw only two people all the way to Nevada falls. I stumbled upon a sleeping bobcat (!!) and a black bear on the Nevada falls side. Be bear aware! This is doable in 4.5 hours. ** edit** I spoke to the ranger today 8/8/2020 and she said people have been feeding the bears by Nevada falls so it has been approaching people. Do NOT feed the bears! Shoo the bear away and don’t be scared - he’s used to getting snacks apparently. Be careful.

Really enjoyed this trail! I went with my girlfriend on July 14, and we started hiking at 6:50am. Total moving time was 6 hours 3 minutes, but we took frequent breaks for pictures and such. Bring bug spray, and PLENTY of water. Once it hit noon, it got hot for sure. We each packed 3 liters of water and ran out with 1 mile left. Luckily we had more in the car. Or better yet, if you have a lightweight water filter, bring that so you can fill up halfway through. I’m only giving this trail 4 stars because the ending is confusing. We were expecting to end at Panorama Point, or even something that said this is the end of Panorama Trail... but we actually passed the end and didn’t realize it until we were half a mile from Nevada Falls! So we just continued on to Nevada Falls, which all together made the hike roughly 11 miles. All in all, I would totally do this again. Beautiful hike with breathtaking views of Half Dome, Vernal Falls, Nevada Falls... have fun :)

We took a shuttle to Glacier Point and started our hike from there. We recommend taking in the amazing views of the valley and Half Dome from Glacier Point before starting the hike. Bring plenty of water. We had lunch at Illilouette Falls. Nevada and Vernal Falls were amazing. Hiking back to the valley via the Mist Trail was fun, but expect slow downs and crowds on the Mist Trail.

BackpackingGreat!

Lives up to the name and then some. Stiff climb after crossing the river but well worth the effort. Saw young bear and a rattlesnake as a bonus! Backpacked June 2020 (coming from Pohono Trail and then moving on to Clouds Rest, Sunrise, Cathedral Lake and Tuolumne Meadows).

Amazing views of Half Dome from many different angles. It’s worth the extra miles to go all the way to Nevada Falls.

Lots of great views. The trail ended up being closer to 13 miles if you go to the falls and back so prepare for a longer route. The falls is a great place to eat lunch and relax before heading back up. Path is easy to follow!

Amazing hike with few people and incredible views. We descended back to the valley via the John Muir Trail and got to see some amazing waterfalls on top of it all. There was a couple that told us they spotted a bear in the area which is something to be cautious of on the trail.

First half of the trail was an easy descent. Once you near Nevada falls the trails start becoming wet as tiny streams use the trails to also flow down the mountain. Make sure to wear good shoes on the trail. Otherwise stunning views and can easily be done in 4-5 hours if keeping at a good pace. I am 27 years old and we were traveling in a bigger group so we moved at a slower pace and still completed the trail in 5 hours. Enjoyed several breaks on the water fall plateaus and the stunning views of the valley from above. The finale at most trail is very wet to say the least. Again good shoes and a decent rain jacket are enough. There were others who ventured shirtless and in bathing suits through the mist.

The whole family did this hike in an easy six hours. We stopped a lot, took photos, and enjoyed our day. Our fickle 12 year old did this trails without too much complaining and the 9 year old loved it. We took the shuttle from Yosemite Lodge to Glacier Point and hiked down. Strongly recommend this hike. It's awesome!
