Loved this loop. Fairly quiet and nice mix of fire road and single track. Not much shade.
Not too hard. Did it counter clockwise. I like the most steep parts to be early and up. Not too many bikes. Winter afternoon sun may be optimal for this one. Some bikes but courteous
Hiked this route clockwise on the afternoon of Sunday, 11/15/2020. First half is a smooth, wide trail. Second half gets more rocky and uneven in parts but still nice. Overall, a good loop. Expect direct sun since there is no tree cover.
Counter clockwise hike. Good uphill climb to start. Very scenic for a brush hillscape. Gets narrow half way thru and was getting concerned with how close the wildlife seemed to be, but in the end, a very nice hike. Temps were in the mid sixties, would have been more difficult if above the 80s. Some bikers along the way but were not an issue
Nice trail but there were so many bikers, I had to keep moving aside to let them pass.
Nice, but it’s mainly a biking trail. I literally had to stop and let bikers go by every couple of minutes, so that was a bummer. Not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet hike.
Varied terrain and nice views. Lots of mtbs out early. Would definitely do it again.
Nice trail with lots of easy up and down elevation changes. No other hikers, and only a few bikers on the trail. The center part of the loop has pretty rock formations and was still a little green even in July.
One of a few trails still open. Definitely worth extending the hike to Albertson Motorway or Simi Peak for stunning views.
Nice wide well maintained trail, a little shade at the beginning but none when climbing. Wildflowers are starting to bloom, this one will be beautiful in about a month
