Spring/creek dry in November. There was a bighorn sheep right at the trailhead and we spotted another in the hills when resting at the palm oasis. Trail has educational pamphlet with trail markings that highlight plants, animals and history of area. Trail feels very hot even when its 80 degrees. Enjoyable hike with a unique and special ending at the oasis.

Great trail! Did this during the wildflower bloom and creeks were shallow but fast. No shade. Wish I took more water. Lots of friendly people. Took the alternate way back. Take a towel or bandana if you like to take off shoes to wade through water. Didn’t see any sheep but days before lots of people did.

Loved this hike. Our first desert/mountain area hike and it was a great one to start with. Not to hard for adult beginners, but still challenging enough to be fun. Beautiful scenery and the palm oasis is a cool destination.

One of the best hikes we have ever done. People who don’t hike can do it and those who do can find ways to pass easily. There IS parking right at the trail head but if you want to add some distance you can park at the visitor center and walk from there. Adds about a mile and half each way. We waited till the afternoon and started the loop on the right and came back on the alternate in the shade.

Very exposed, sunny trail. The palm oasis was a little underwhelming, being mostly closed off. But we saw a group of 5 bighorn sheep on the alt trail, which was awesome.

Interesting trail. Can be done as a partial loop with a secondary trail along the southern side of the canyon for about 2/3rds of the length of trail. Rejoins the main trail before reaching the first of the Palm oases.
