Fun little super easy trail, just watch out for where the sand gets deeper so you don't get stuck. the road in is just a washboard nightmare, we found that small trail just West of the main road going into the canyon to be way more enjoyable and less bumpy. but you could easily get stuck there.

Hiking

Great trail. Some of the ladders more difficult due to a missing rung or large boulders at top of ladders. Overall very doable. Recommend walking clockwise. Definitely not a trail for dogs.

CampingGreat!

Suuuuuuuper easy for those with 4x4’s. There was a spot that was super sandy but not much of a challenge. Easy spot to go camp and then take a hike on the trail. Very windy so get there early to find a spot near a rock. Not recommend for those who want to go “off road.” Bathroom was SUPER clean. My fam and I enjoyed it

It was so much fun! Large Obstacles that push you to lose fear (@ least for me ha) great views Little shade don’t pack heavy as a lot of climbing down and stooping.

Easy and fun OHV trail to get up to the Mecca Wilderness hiking spots. I don’t think 4wd is necessary for this one unless you want to go into the deeper sand washes.

Majority of cars can make it. The last two hundred yards are very sandy. If you don’t have 4x4 or a 2wd with all terrain tires, park far away and walk. 12/26/2020. Hikes are fun and enjoy.

Great trail for beginners and the scenery is great! I would say it doesn’t require a 4x4 or AWD, but be careful cause we saw two sedans get stuck. Just be wary of stopping on the sides to take pictures because it’s sandy! Also towards the end gets a bit sandy too, so just be mindful and if you do the hike, park your card about a hundred yards back

Very easy trail. nice sceneries. most 2WD vehicles are okay just don't drive on too sandy road. saw a jeep patriot that got stuck on sand.

OHV/Off-road drivingGreat!

Just got back from the road yesterday 09/21/2020. Fun little offroad trail with a bunch of different little trails that give good practice in hills and nice spots of sand. Couple sedans made it to the end so definitely beginner. There are some sandy spots because I did have to pull out a Scion tC that got stuck in the sand, but overall very easy. And once you get to the end you can hike around, just make sure to bring plenty of water because it was about 105°

Hiking

I've done this hike numerous times. The road in is super soft now. I would be very careful in a low profile vehicle. I made it just fine in my SUV but super soft in a couple areas. I didn't park by the sign because it was really soft. I recommend stopping 1/4 mile back from the sign. One guy got stuck 2x in his truck and had to get pushed out of one hole then pulled out of a second. His bumper was totally jacked up. He later ran out of gas. Rough day for that not so smart dude. Don't be that guy. Hike was good and fun as usual.

Amazing views! But do not take that “4x4 only” sign at the start of the trail for granted. When I went I took my wrangler which is a 4WD and I had no trouble on the gravel/sand. However, that day there were about 6 cars stuck in sand and even a 2WD truck. They were all stuck in a line. Be very careful and choose a hard packed line to drive through. Enjoy the beautiful canyon!

I've been wanting to drive this road for years but I waited until I owned a Jeep to do it, and I am glad I did. This is an easy road for a 4wd vehicle. The drive through the canyon has a few areas of deep soft sand. The canyon itself is beautiful. The layers of colored rock become more vibrant as you drive to the turn-around. Looking forward to returning with more time to explore.

If you drive slow on it you will feel every bump there is you have to drive kinda fast on so you don’t feel the bumps if you have a low car don’t suggest but it might make it

4 stars cause it's beautiful back there, but it's a super easy road (pretty much any car can do it). It's pretty much a have-to to hike the slot canyons, so I'll be doing again!

Took all wheel drive Rav4 on that road, had a great time, I’m sure 2 wheel drive vehicles can make it on that road as long as you don’t go off, Deff recommending 4x4 or awd since there are plenty of sandy areas around to have fun in

Ladder are in good shape, I recommend that you go with a few friends. Just follow the arrows shapes on the ground. Ave 66 got wash away there's a big sign not to pass.
