Went as far as the campground, from the South trail head. Although it is a pretty and scenic hike with nice views, the many rocky parts of the trail really detract when you are tired. There was one area with a hum of bees but that lasted less than 100'.

Not my favorite trail, though great cardio climbing up for the first 2 miles. Nobody there. But it was hot, no shade, and a lot of overgrowth of wild flowers, hence, many bees, to which I am allergic, so we (my dog and I) turned around after 2 miles. Very pretty scenery.

A nice trail. I went as far as the Dry Lakes trail. The chaparral has recovered from the fire. Much of the trail is rocky. Probably takes10-20% more effort. Many small creeks and water. Could hear it at times but couldn't see it.

The trail is badly burned. The Mountians are stunning but it's a sad hike. There are no signs of wildlife. It's is uphill all the way and extremely strenuous and Rocky. This would be a nice trail when it's not a bone yard. Thomas fire destroyed it.

Oh dear lord sweet baby Jesus. This bad boy goes up...forever. You hit a switch back and pray for the sweet relief of flat ground if only for 10 feet, but no. Unless you're Thor or forest Gump and one day just felt like hiking don't do it. That being said we will definite try to summit this mammoth of a hike the next time we are in ojai. 5/7 would suffer on this trail again. Also some super awesome views of the falls on your way up.

Trail is difficult, like the sign says. 1300 elevation gain in about 2 miles. Very overgrown with ticks, needs maintenance. Singletrack and mainly for motorcycles.
