Finally got to do the Trail today with my buddie. Last week we went on it blindly and got into the “nature trail” and ended up in high weeds and a no -existent trail haha. Results in a Complete fail but and itchy legs all week. Today we went on the nature trail and then made a right to the split, and back down at the loop. We really enjoyed it. Talk about a nice vert. trail huh. Every time you think there’s no more hills they just keep on coming lol. Basically felt like I was literally in a “loop” a time loop that is lol. I will say, make sure to bring a bottle of water at least and try to preserve. Btw, has anyone recorded there KCAL count on this trail? Wanted to manually add it to my ACTIVITY on my Apple Watch lol.

Parts of this hike were really a scramble. The views were beautiful and the challenge was there. However, as others have said you will be best prepared by bringing polls. if you go clockwise you will need them to get up the steep and slippery slopes, and if you go counterclockwise you will need them to get down them without falling on your butt. Go early morning, shade is lacking. Social distancing is not possible on most of the trail, and about 70% of people overall were wearing masks (90% in early morning and 50% late morning).

Nice hike. Kind of more than we had expected! We went clockwise, which is a steep climb up, increasing over 1,000 feet, in just the first 30 minutes. No opportunity to find reprieve from the sun either. We ended up skipping the out and back part to Mission Point. The trek down was a lovely, curvy, and at times shady joy. Trail was pretty quiet for a sunny Sunday. Most people were wearing masks due to covid. The picnic and park areas were more crowded. Tons of parking.

Definitely open, was a great hike. Just be careful did see a snake on the trail but otherwise it gets hot by 9am and hardly any shade once you hit almost 1 mile in from the parking lot

Great ride can’t complaint

Great 3 mile hike. The counterclockwise route is much easier because of the terrain but still very difficult to cli.b despite numerous stops along the way! would be a beast in the summertime. The view at the summit is absolutely beautiful!

This trail is very steep, make sure you wear the right shoes. There are lots of rocks on the way down. Took my dogs and they did great.

There’s so much beauty out here right now during this time in March . It’s so green with beautiful wild flowers growing for spring . Definitely recommend wearing hiking boots as there are inclines and declines with gravel.

Great views of hazy San Fernando valley and lots of friendly people. Very green this time of year. Trail was very steep coming back and my toes are sore despite my good, Merrell hiking boots. No shade once you get out of the park

A challenging hike but very rewarding views. It has a good incline and steep decline. There is restrooms as well.

Really nice trail, easy to follow. Went with several kids, age 7-10, and it was great for them. Lots of places to wander and explore. Definitely pretty windy at the top but the views were beautiful. Free parking in the lot in front of the entrance (and plenty of street parking if that is full), bathrooms and well kept park. Will def be back :)
