I started a bit late, around 9am. But I found the beginning of the trail difficult to navigate given it is in the middle of a medical campus with a lot of fences that at first glance appear impenetrable. The first half of the hike is filled with evidence of frequent horse rides along the trail. The ground is less packed down which made the trek feel more difficult than it actually was. But once you make it to mile 5 the trail is much more packed down and traffic is refreshingly light. The climb is very gradual and so the ascent didn’t present a challenge. It was only going downhill that my legs began to feel the outing. Overall good, not great.
