Not quite at scenic as some of the others in the area but nice. Very overgrown in parts. Wear pants or have wipes/soap ready for all of the poison oak. The trail itself is fun and was nice as a trail run. Lots of horse poo to dodge though.

Beautiful cool weather to hike today. Sky trail was dripping in fog and lush with green foliage; epiphytic, Spanish, lace lichen, California Alsia and green moss covering many of the pine, oak and redwood trees. Various ferns, California polypody, coffee fern, California wood fern, western sword fern and many more ferns noted. Also, wildflowers that were still blooming was the coastal lily, sky lupine and the last of the seep-spring monkey flower. Unfortunately, most of the wildflowers are done for the season. If your in good shape, do hike the sky trail! Once your up to 1300 elevation which is a strenuous hike for 1.9 miles to the top, you will be experiencing a different atmosphere high in the clouds spreading through the trees creating a rainforest look alike. Absolutely enchanting and beautiful!

Pretty muddy, even in mid June. Trails are beautiful, but expect to be side stepping a lot of horse shit, cause on weekdays they allow horses on all these trails. I've heard the views are amazing, but I wouldn't know: it was super foggy while I was there. I spend the night at Sky Camp, so did the loop in two parts. Still only took me 3.5 hours total.

Gorgeous trail. Mostly shady, lots of wonderful forest views. We did it counter clockwise which means you arrive at the beautiful meadow towards the end of the adventure. Great place for a picnic.

beautiful trail, we did it with our 8 year old and he barely complained. More gradual incline going up Old Pine than down Meadow Trail - that can be steep. We did see lots of poison oak and stinging nettles so be careful.

Trail was very shaded throughout which was nice. It was moderately busy but my group was able to keep distance between other folks. If you follow the trail to the coast (2 recordings shows this route) it does not go to beach but it is a very pretty cliff view with flat/open spots for lunch.

I added a detour - I took Bear Valley to Old Pine, down Sky, across the Coast trail, went to Kelham Beach and came back up Woodard Valley. Even though it was overcast, it was absolutely beautiful, definitely a workout coming back up from Coast trail, but the toughest part of the actual Old Pine/Sky/Meadow Loop, is the initial incline. I went clockwise - Bear Valley to Old Pine and the incline was much more gradual, which meant the descent on Meadow Trail was pretty steep, but preferable to me.

Really nice loop. Definitely go the little 1/2 mile out and back at the top for great views the coast and southern Point Reyes.

I've been 5 times now. There's so much to see, this loop barely scratches the surface.

After you get off Bear Valley it is a steady climb up Old Pine that generally flattens out on Sky with a long all down hill trip on Meadow. The best part is very low usage-private-quiet...the tourist stay on Bear Valley. Downside...no views. We clocked it at 7.1 from our car.

Very scenic and peaceful trail. Only saw about four other hikers which added to the enjoyment of the natural surroundings. Highly recommend this hike. I can't wait to do it again!

The is one of the prettiest hikes in Point Reyes. Nice gradual incline on the Old Pine Trail. Can be pretty wet near the top. I ran into some stinging nettles and watch out for some spots of poison oak. The trail down Meadow Trail has a few steep spots but overall very easy hiking. It's never crowded, often times you will have the trail all to yourself. Gorgeous photo ops all over the place. Love it !
