Experience Muir Woods by getting off the beaten path, this nice loop takes you away from the crowds and lets you experience some of the more pristine aspects of the redwood grove. Take the Ocean View Trail to the Lost Trail. Connect to the Fern Creek Trail to return to the Visitor Center.

Great views, beautiful stream, and good distance. A few too many people though

Great hike down into Muir Woods National Monument, and then back up. Like others have said, you cannot see the ocean, but plenty of amazing redwoods.

This trail has been renamed to Canopy View Trail, which is more appropriate considering there is no ocean view. It's a very nice, peaceful, and easy hike. I wouldn't go out of the way for this hike, but it is great if you are already chilling with the redwoods at Muir Woods.

Not terribly strenuous, good for a weekend hike.

Gorgeous, expansive view of the pacific comes to view immediately from an accessible path (Old Mine Trail) off of Pantolla parking lot. Places to sit off the path as well. Smack at the edge of Steep Ravine and Dipsea Trail.

Got there around 8:30AM on a Monday and had the trail mostly to ourselves. Great way to extend and diversify your Muir Woods experience a little more than the standard stretch. The last part of the loop was closed for us unfortunately so we had to double back but hopefully it will reopen soon (or you can connect to another trail for an even longer hike).

What can anyone say about hiking among the sequoia's? Slightly crowded at first but most people are there just to look at the massive trees so it thins out quickly. Never really a steep incline/decline and views never end. If I lived in the area, I would be here every weekend. Oh...we were lucky but get there early for parking. You hate to enter a "five star" rating for every rating but this one certainly deserves it!

You really can't see the ocean. However the trail is nice and easy to hike to. Great scenery.

Beautiful hike! Unfortunately too foggy to see the ocean. Turned around and went back via the Lost trail and the Camp Eastwood trail.
