Really good way to get into some Muir Woods redwoods without driving to the valley floor. Nice trails. Lots of people.

Awesome hike with just me and the mister. Went Memorial Day weekend and plenty of people on the trail. Started off pretty easy and then became a bit harder with roots coming up and thin trail path. We saw many turn around back to the main trail and a few that fell on the trail. Be careful! Beautiful hike, however, come early. We parked at muir beach and walked 3 miles just to get to the visitors center, and 3 miles back after our hike.

Beautiful hike on a misty day. Lots of waterfalls right now. The river was an added surprise. The lost trail had a sign that it was closed from one direction for possible falling trees but not from the other direction. We didn't see the sign until we reached the bottom safely.

The description didn't mention that this takes you into Muir Woods. This trail is great if you want to hike Muir Woods without paying the 25$ entry fee. If you want to avoid crowds though, this is not the trail for you. There isn't really an ocean view. This hike is primarily through the redwoods. (I will say that I prefer this trail to Muir Woods alone because it has more elevation gain.
