I followed multiple trails and started in a weird spot. But the weather and views were beautiful!

Classic Griffith Park hike that has awesome views of downtown, the Hollywood sign, and the observatory. It's going to be crowded, steep at times, and no plan accordingly. My only gripe about this particular trail is the extra loop that goes down by the Ferndell area at the bottom left corner of the map. Totally skippable.

Very relaxing trail that connects to other trails around in Griffith Park!

Go counter clockwise..... much better workout.

Lots of wildflowers April/May, the ridge is the best part the rest is pretty crowded.

Started at LA Live Steamers , up Rattlesnake trail head, past Toyon Canyon land fill to the observatory. Reverse course via Mt. Hollywood. Nice moderate hike, met pleasant people on the way.

Awesome trails. Bring plenty of water for the dessert heat. Almost no shade the entire trail, so you'll wanna bring plenty of sunblock and a hat.

Awesome! But good luck finding a place to park. :/

Great hike. Challenging on a hot day.

The thing I like about the Griffith Observatory trail and connecting trails is you can choose to take the more vertical shortcuts rather than walk around the loop. I feel some burn in my butt cheeks. Then if I feel lazy afterwards, I can just walk the trail. It's super dog-friendly as well, though almost all dogs I've encountered have been off leash. That said, I haven't had issues.

This was a great trail but not easy. The first 2 miles on the east side of the trail is really nice but after that the 1600+ elevation gain was pretty steep at times -- I wouldn't recommend it for small children or beginning hikers. I noticed a lot of the 5 star rating were by hikers that went out and back but didn't do the full 6.8 full Loop.

Great stretch of the legs. Go as far as you want before turning back or just finish the loop..... Great views. Good beginner trail.

Beautiful as always

awesome view of pretty much all of los angeles. went on a monday and the trail going up towards mt.hollywood was really busy with tourists. i imagine the weekends here are completely packed with people. most of the trails east of the observatory were beautiful and a little less traveled than the latter.

Great first time trails

Nice, easy and a pretty view. I took this trail up to the observatory for the blood moon in August and it was great.

Is has a nice view it is more sightseeing than hiking, is a good place to the the kids and go up the hill but if you really want a good workout you need to go up more than two times , besides that nice for just a walk and go see the observatory and the city from up there

I live in the area so I am able to go on this hike quite frequently (my roommate does it multiple times a week). It is a great workout with stunning views and an awesome way to get to the observatory. There is free parking on Fern Dell and the entrance to the hike is located here - you walk through an adorable little scenic path. The trail gets crowded on weekends, but it is a really wide trail which accommodates this. It is a steady incline to the top and gets you sweating. On hot days, its best to start early and wear sunblock! I also frequently see dogs on the trail.

view was great

Takes longer to get to than to hike. Boring trail, even if you get creative. No interesting views, no challenge, no fun. If you want to see the observatory you should drive to it. If you want to go hiking you should go anywhere else.
