still pretty overgrown, even though the weeds drying out has made it much more passable.

Basic, nothing that great, wide, easy for anyone.

Usually this trail is awesome - I’ve hiked it about 10-15 times and it’s a nice 5mi loop with decent elevation changes. But today (7/4/19) it was a nightmare - about a mile in it becomes completely overgrown to the point it’s hard to see the trail. Even worse is that about half of the overgrowth are these dead, prickly plants. If you plan to hike this, 1) wear think pants 2) make sure you’ve hiked this enough to know where to go when there’s no trail and 3) bring poles or something to carve a path for yourself. I’m wondering if this is actually closed right now it was such a disaster. It felt like the movie Annihilation. The only cool thing was that there were super funky plants growing and for the parts that had a clear path, there were 5’ wheat-like fields on either side of you. This trail definitely needs some love, care and clearing though.

Took the Las Virgenes Trail to the North Grasslands Trail Sunday, June 2. Exited at Mulholland Hwy. Easy trail, wide in parts with evidence of vehicle traffic. Some flowers here and there but looking pretty dry.

Average hike. The good parts: -trail wasn’t busy, easy to find free parking -trail is clearly defined, but it was useful to have a map bc it’s easy to make a wrong turn. -decent view of mountains Bad parts: -the trail is within earshot of a heavily trafficed road, including sirens of ambulances, fire trucks, and loud motorcycles. -nothing really unique to see

I like this trail a lot. It's pretty fun, a couple of times I had to get off my bike and push it but I would still call this an easy trail. No crowd, I met only one person. Nice view just be careful with the wildlife, I saw a bob cat sitting in the meadow and coyotes.

I took this trail for the first time this morning. I started and ended at the opposite end, where there is ample free parking, restrooms, and water fountains at DeAnza Park on Lost Hills Road. The view from the heights along Talepop Trail is breathtaking when winter showers have made green the hillsides. My new fave.
