Re-hiked this trail solo today and need to update my review. Important note: the trail head is back up the road about a 100 feet from the trail sign. This is a moderate trail with some new safety hazards due to the recent heavy rains this past winter. Basically landslides in close vicinity below the trail and areas where the trail gets skinny on a steep slope. One could slip and slide down a ravine down into the creek. There is a memorial for a hiker that passed away here at the trail sign. Made it to the bridge which is in good shape and turned back. Nice views of nature like wildflowers and most of the hike is far above the creek. There is evidence of some recent trail repair work such as sawed fallen logs.

We tried to do this trail with my Grandparents, Daughter, and Wife in tow but had to turn back as it was way out of our league. The trail has been damaged / wiped out by heavy flooding and log debris along with many small fallen trees. There is fantastic scenery with the creek and woods and if you are in shape and have the right equipment, I’m sure its a great off trail hike to the cabin. Update: Please see my other review. We went on the wrong trail. The real trail actually starts 100 feet uphill on the road from the sign.
