Negro Canyon Overlook in Tahoe Donner A casual hike in the Tahoe Donner area. There are several trails to choose from with scenic view of Tahoe Donner Lake and surrounding areas. Great for kids.

Well marked trail. Appeared to be several offshoots that might take the adventurous traveler to other points. Wasn't blown away by the trail itself. A bit too populous for my preference. The overlook was spectacular, though.

Trailhead marked Glacier Way Trail, nice parking lot with bear proof trash can, well marked trail. Sign that says dogs must be on leash but ours were off for most of the hike, only on for when we passed other dogs. Shaded picnic table at the end of the trail if you'd like to have a snack before heading back. Beautiful view of the mountains and Donner Lake.

Very short and easy hike. Great for families and a very beautiful view of the canyon. A lot of parking with no fee. Good for pets. Wildflowers and pine trees are my favorite part!

Good hike for kids, not a whole lot of shade on a hot day though.

Nice Thanksgiving 2013 stroll with the kids. Lots of families with kids and dogs. Trail is more of a fire road. The rock formation at the end of the trail is nice for a bit of bouldering, but be careful!
